Seeme Productions opens doors to offices in The UK and UAE


One of the largest independent production houses in Pakistan, Seeme Productions, has expanded its business and creative services to the international market, now operating in the UK and UAE.

This expansion comes intending to take this independent business venture to the next step portraying Pakistan on the production map worldwide and introduce Pakistani industry talent to the world. Seeme is now providing enhanced production facilities in the UK and UAE as part of its strategy to promote the production of global content, bringing work opportunities to Pakistan, and also providing the directors with the opportunity to deliver on the international market.

Habib Paracha’s ‘The Last Full Measure’ All Set to Hit Cinemas in Pakistan on 31st January


The most anticipated war drama film “The Last Full Measure” would be hitting cinemas across Pakistan on 31st January 2020, making this the first time that a Hollywood film by a Pakistani Executive Producer would be released in Pakistan.

Written and directed by Todd Robinson, the film stars Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt Ed Harris, and Samuel L. Jackson, among others. Habib Paracha is the executive producer behind the film, which narrates the true story of William Pitsenbarger, played by Jeremy Irvine, who is a war hero of the highest order, an Air Force medic who personally saved over sixty men.

Talking about the film release, the excited producer, Habib Paracha said, “I am so thrilled for this movie to be released in Pakistan! I hope to leverage my learning from this project to showcase the stories of the heroes of our armed forces and show the Pakistani audience and the World at large the great sacrifices that the soldiers of our country have made towards being a peaceful, progressive and positive country in the World.”

Talking about the film release, CEO HKC Entertainment, Hammad Chaudhry, said, “We are glad to be bringing this exciting new story to cinemas across Pakistan. It is a real honor to be able to bring a movie produced by a Pakistani producer to audiences over here.”

The Last Full Measure will be distributed locally by HKC Entertainment.

“The Last Full Measure” marks as Habib Paracha’s fourth venture in Hollywood after ‘The Trust,’ ‘Terminal,’ and ‘Strive.’ One of the few Pakistani producers representing the country in Hollywood, Habib Paracha, has made a name for himself with critically acclaimed productions starring popular American actors including Nicholas Cage, Elijah Wood, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, and many others.

Closing Ceremony of Tape Ball Cricket Tournament by Hamid Ismail Foundation


The closing ceremony of the Tape Ball Cricket Tournament presented by Hamid Ismail Foundation (HIF) took place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Annu Bhai Park in Nazimabad, Karachi. The ceremony included an award distribution to the winning teams and a musical performance by a renown music artist, AsimAzhar.

Many notable personalities attended the ceremony including Mr. Hamid M. Ismail, Founder of HIF,Dr. Farooq Sattar, Head of MQM Organization Restoration Committee, FirdousShameem Naqvi, Member National Assembly, and Rehan HashmiChairman District Central.

The Tape Ball Tournament had commenced on November 30, 2019 and welcomed 48 teams from all over the city. The winner and runners-up of the tournament were awarded prizes worth Rs. 100,000. The aim of this initiative was to engage the youth of Pakistan in healthy sports activities and to provide them with a platform to display their talent.

Hamid Ismail Foundation is a non-profit organization which was founded by Mr. Hamid Ismail. The aim of the foundation is to work towards quality education, environmental sustainability, healthy entertainment opportunities, and women empowerment. HIF has been actively involved in organizing activities and implementing projects that reflect their values.

Pakistan’s numero uno entertainment network HUM Network Limited, celebrated the 15th anniversary of its premier entertainment channel HUM TV, on January 17, 2017 in Karachi in a special transmission of Subh Se Agay. The anniversary transmission was attended by prominent faces of the country’s entertainment landscape including Imran Ashraf, Mawra Hocane, Sami Khan, Danish Nawaz, Khushbakht Shujaat, Mohammad Ehteshamuddin, Usman Mukhtar, Ali Safina, Senator Faisal Javed Khan, Sultana Siddiqui President HUM Network Limited and CEO HUM Network Duraid Qureshi. The veteran Bushra Ansari and Hamza Ali Abbasi participated in the transmission via teleconference.

Kashan Hasan takes over as CEO of Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Limited


Reckitt Benckiser (RB), a global leader in consumer health and hygiene, has appointed Kashan Hasan as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Pakistan business. Kashan will be spearheading the health business with immediate effect. Kashan has been associated with RB for the last 12 years, serving in various successful leadership roles across the globe in Pakistan, UK, South Africa, Egypt and the Middle East. In his most recent role, he was serving as the Regional Sales Director for the Hygiene Home business for the MENA region.

Business Incubation Programme launched for youth of Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa


A Business Incubation Programme for the youth of the Newly Merged Districts was launched in Islamabad today. Various Government officials, representatives of USAID, UNDP,The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and young entrepreneurs from the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the ceremony where Ms. Shandana Gulzar Khan, Member National Assembly of Pakistan, Chairperson Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians was the chief guest.


Business incubation services will be provided to 180 aspiring entrepreneurs including 54 women from Khyber, North and South Waziristan districts. The programme will provide technical assistance in the form of mentoring, coaching and training. The young entrepreneurs will go through one-month incubation training, followed by a grant provision/distribution after approval of their business ideas.The programme is implemented by TiE Islamabad in partnership with United Nations Development Programme -UNDP under the USAID funded FATA Economic Revitalisation Programme (FERP).


Speaking at the ceremony Mr. Wasim Bari, Activity Manager, USAID said, “FERP will provide sustainable income generation and livelihood opportunities to the returnees of the region who were displaced due to the former security situation. All the components of the business incubation programme including business development grants, investment capital, and skills training provided to the potential beneficiaries from the newly merged districts of KP are equally important. To increase the size of the economy, we should always support and invest in such incubation ventures and training programs that unlock the prospects for self-employment and economic growth.”


Mr.Mustafa Mehmood, Program Officer UNDPstated, “From working in FATA with the government of Pakistan since 2005, UNDP’s efforts have always successfully supported the sustainable returns and rehabilitation strategy. This incubation programme will help unleash the potential of youth and entrepreneurship opportunities in the newly merged districts of KP. We, along with our partners, believe that the collaboration of both government and private sectors in such ventures will lead to more prosperous and significant prospects.”



Chief guest of the ceremony, Ms. Shandana Gulzar Khan, Member National Assembly of Pakistan, Chairperson CommonwealthWomen Parliamentarians said, “The true essence of economic and social development lies in the empowerment of all communities in a region, in particular those that have been “left behind”- the exact opposite of SDG 2030 agenda which is to “leave no one behind”.”


She added, “FERP is one of the thousand footsteps that are headed towards the realization of such development. I believe that the UNDP’s and TiE’s efforts to help empower young and aspiring entrepreneurs in addressing and solving the challenges that have hurdled the economic development in KPK, will nurture a cycle of inclusive economic growth and prosperity, leading to a self-reliant and successful socio-economic paradigm for Pakistan.“

Ramsha Khan shines bright in Badar Mehmood’s Ishqiya


After hits like Khudparast, Kaisa Hai Naseeban& Shahrukh Ki Saaliyan in 2019, Ramsha Khan starts 2020 with a bang, playing the leading lady in Ishqiya – the upcoming project of director Badar Mehmood – of Balaa&Cheekh fame.


Teasers for the drama came out this weekend, and have since been the talk of the town. Produced by Big Bang Entertainment, of Fahad Mustafa & Dr. Ali Kazmi, Ishqiya has been penned by Mohsin Ali, it also features Feroze Khan, Gohar Rasheed and Hania Amir in pivotal roles along with Khan.


“I had started by television career with Feroze (Khan) in Who Ik Pal, so it was great to be coming full circle sharing screen with him again, but this time we stand on opposing ends instead of romancing each other,” stated Ramsha Khan said about the leading man. “But what made this project special for me was getting Badar Mehmood to direct me.” Khan further added.


“Ishqiya” is slated to go on air from January 2020 on ARY Digital.

Taha Hussain releases his second song, BEWAFA


After the critical success of the release of his debut song Jee Lunga in December 2019, one of Pakistan’s most exciting young musician Taha Hussain has released his second song, ‘BEWAFA’ from the album, Ibtida.


The melodious BEWAFA is the first song which Taha wrote, composed and recorded in a studio. “I write a lot about my fears and I have written a lot of words that turned into songs in times I was down, BEWAFA is an interpretation of my feelings at a point in my life.” said Taha Hussain on the release of BEWAFA.

Originally composed and written in Urdu by Taha Hussain, BEWAFA features some of the industry’s leading musicians such as Saad Hayat on keyboard, Ajay Harri on drums, Yasir Ejaz and Mohsin Raza Shah on guitars and Shane Kerr on bass. BEWAFA has been mixed, mastered and produced at Saad Hayat Music in Karachi. The lyrical video for BEWAFA has been edited and produced by Kashif Ahmed Khan with support from Shahrukh Hayat and Talal H Shah.


Indeed, born and bred in Dubai, Taha is heavily inspired by his dad, who is also a musician. Growing up around music and guitars, Taha has been an amateur performer since the tender age of 15 and in 2017, he moved to Karachi to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. A fitness trainer and a keen musician whose instrument of choice is an acoustic guitar, Taha Hussain spent over 5 years refining his talent which led him to record his debut album Ibtida.

The 27th Dolmen Shopping Festival concludes amidst magnificent celebrations


Dolmen Mall, Pakistan’s favourite chain of shopping malls marked the closing ceremony of Dolmen Shopping Festival (DSF) with a grand event with the gifting ceremony of the 27th shopping festival across its three malls in Clifton, Tariq Road and Hyderi. The festivities came to an end with a glimpse of the celebrations that will continue this year.

Hosted by Anoushay Ashraf, the ceremony was held to conclude the annual DSF celebrations and honour the grand prize winners, the winners of the festival who won gifts and vouchers over the span of 17 days and to celebrate the festivities with all who visited. Gifts and grand shopping sprees included high worth watches, electronics, sound systems and airline tickets among many others.

The grand prize worth Rs. 2 million in shopping sprees was announced consecutively across the three malls at a closing ceremony that attracted mall visitors, influencers, media and patrons.
