Markings KHUDI proudly launches its fourth title: Tina’s Steps to Success by Mahin Ashfaq


Markings KHUDI, a motivational, inspirational and developmental publishing platform launches its fourth title, Tina’s Steps to Success by Mahin Ashfaq [#TinasStepstoSuccess].

Indeed, Markings KHUDI was first launched with ‘Choti Choti Khushiyan’, followed by its titles ‘Hum Nay Suna Hum Nay Dekha – Volume I’ and ‘Wind Beneath Your Wings’.

Tina’s Steps to Success’ explores how a healthy physical activity can change how you function in your daily life. Using the basic principles of Taekwondo, the book illustrates how one can evolve feelings of helplessness and anger into acts of positive mindfulness and kindness. With themes ranging from respect, perseverance, self-control, integrity, and indomitable spirit, this profound feel-good book will resonate with readers both young and old.

Speaking about her book Mahin Ashfaq said; Inspired by what Taekwondo has taught me, my book follows the story of a young girl named Tina who strives to incorporate the five principles of Taekwondo into her daily life. She understands how Taekwondo is not just a physical sport but a tool to help her develop as a person. I hope that my book inspires young children to seek their own passions and inculcate similar principles into their lives.

Speaking about the publishing house’s fourth title under Markings KHUDI, CEO Markings Kiran Aman has said; “This book is coming out at a time where it has become pertinent to speak more about feelings of helplessness and bullying amongst children. Zubab Rana’s New Project “Mehboob Apke Qadmo May” to Kick Off on Hum TV


Rising star, model turned actress Zubab Rana will be gracing our screens once again, in a lead role in “Mehboob Apke Qadmo May”, scheduled to go on air this October.

Starring as Sunaina; Zubab Rana plays an innocent girl who would be stuck in a love triangle with some major twists and turns. The story centers on the evils of black magic, and the consequences it can lead to, turning your world upside down. Written by Imran Nazir and directed by Furqan Adam, the drama is produced under the banner of Moomal Entertainment and MD Productions.

“After the blockbuster success of Bandish, I am excited to be working on another supernatural themed project, and this time for Hum TV where I made my acting debut from,” said the lovely Zubab Rana.

Zubab Rana is currently winning hearts with her performance in the hit drama “Rishtay Biktay Hain” that airs every Monday-Wednesday at 9 pm on ARY Digital.

Hamid Ismail Foundation Inaugurated RO Plant at Govt. Boys and Girls Primary School in Shanti Nagar


Hamid Ismail Foundation has come up with the initiative of providing clean drinking water to the residents of underprivileged areas in Karachi. They initially installed two water treatment units, reverse osmosis (RO) plants in the densely populated Shanti Nagar of the metropolis. They have now installed another RO plant at Govt. Boys and Girls Primary School in Shanti Nagar, Karachi.

Hamid Ismail Foundation Inaugurated the second RO Plant in Shanti Nagar. The philanthropic organization has been at the forefront of creating sustainable change to improve the well-being of local communities and help improve the quality of life for people.

Speaking at the event, the founder Hamid Ismail said, “It’s heartbreaking to think that people are still deprived of basic necessities like clean drinking water in these parts of the city. Being one of the most affected countries by an acute water shortage, our immediate mission has to be to provide this basic survival need to our people.”

The not-for-profit organization also inaugurated the Hamid Ismail Street at Shanti Nagar; where they had worked on its cleanliness, installed new lights, and painted the houses; bringing life to the state of the street. There was a distribution of gift boxes and school uniforms to the students at the ceremony as well.

Pakistan Excellence Awards


To celebrate 72 years of Independence of Pakistan, the organizing committee of Pakistan Excellence Awards held an awards ceremony here earlier today at Marriott Hotel to pay tribute to the officers of Pakistan as well as veteran showbiz personalities for their invaluable contribution to the industry.

Addressing the audience, the chief guest on the occasion, Minister of Culture, Sardar Ali Shah said, “I salute Pakistan Excellence Awards for honouring people, especially public officers, in their lifetime – something I have never seen before. I hope this will set a trend and will mark the beginning of many such awards in the future.”

Chairman Pakistan excellence Awards, Hameed Bhutto said, “While Pakistan Excellence Awards is honouring showbiz personalities for the third consecutive year, this year we have changed the format somewhat to honour seasoned celebrities that have given so much to Pakistan with their talent, and have also introduced Officers’ Public Service Awards in order to recognise the efforts of a sector that normally gets ignored. Pakistan Excellence Awards is presenting a token of appreciation to those who have served Pakistan with their extraordinary contribution. We are looking forward to awarding more and more deserving officers based on merit, so as to improve the bureaucracy of Pakistan hoping that others will also fulfill their duties with responsibility.”

Speaking on the occasion, one of the patrons of Pakistan Excellence Award, Muhammad Iqbal Qureshi said, “Pakistan Excellence Award believes in encouraging good work no matter what field a person belongs to which is why we keep broadening our scope of award winners”.

Chief Patron Anwar Ali Sangi said, “The true expression of our love for our country and its people is to appreciate those who serve our great country well. This award ceremony serves this very purpose.“

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy launches the eighth animated short film from AAGAHI entitled ‘Acid Crimes’


SOC Films has released the eighth animated short film from the series “AAGAHI titled “Acid Crimes”.

 AAGAHI is a public service campaign, which aims to educate women about their legal rights in Pakistan.

The eighth animated short film, “Acid Crimes” seeks to inform viewers on the various forms of what constitutes an acid crime, specifically with the intent of harming another human being. The video discusses punishments for convicted offenders, illegal usage and sale of acid and other corrosive chemicals which are punishable by the Pakistani legal system, including a sentence of 14 years jail, life imprisonment, a 1 Million Rupee fine or all of the above. It also advises on safety measures that can be taken subsequently if involved in an incident. The film ends by providing viewers with contact information for various helplines, women’s shelters, counseling services, and legal support services available to acid attack survivors.

AAGAHI is a series of 14 short animated films conceptualized, produced and directed by SOC Films, helmed by Two-Time Academy Award Winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, which cover topics such as the law, its interpretation and the safety that it provides to the victim. This will also include the legislation, as stated in the Pakistan Penal Code, and the various case laws, which have been passed or revised in recent years.

One of Pakistan’s leading actresses, Aamina Sheikh has lent her voice for the series, which is also being shared free of cost with all news and media channels for dissemination across the country.

Amar Khan to play leading role in Hum TV Mini Series on Women Empowerment


Pakistan entertainment industry’s rising star, multitalented Amar Khan is all set to star in a mini-series by Hum TV, titled ‘Choti Choti Baatein’ are short episodic stories depicting the issues women in our society face every day and how they overcome them.

The mini series is being directed by Angeline Malik, while Amar Khan will be playing the lead role of Zeena in episode titled ‘Roop’ opposite Muneeb Butt. They will be joined by Mehmood Aslam, Rubina Ashraf, Lubna Aslam, Ghana Ali, and Sara Raza in supporting roles.

‘Roop’ is a story of a simplistic, studious girl named Zeena (played by Khan) who is consistently criticised at her home and workplace for her looks. It is a short love story revolving around the chemistry that fires up between her and Muneeb Butt’s character as he develops an interest in her despite of her unpopular physical appearance.

“Its refreshing to play engaging and different roles which are relatable with audience and talks about girls and their relevant problems in today’s time. Zeena’s character uplifts the thought of proving your mettle based on her intellect and not makeup & physical appearance.” stated Amar Khan.

Choti Choti Baatein will be aired this Sunday at 8 pm on Hum TV and will continue to air a weekly episode for the next 4 weeks.
