After a year-long court struggle, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have finally reached a divorce settlement. The true tale, though, is their acrimonious custody battle over their two daughters, Willa, age two, and Delphine, age three. Whereas Jonas desired to retain the kids in the United States, Turner had been advocating for their transfer to her native United Kingdom. This resulted in a temporary arrangement whereby the children spent two weeks with each parent, rotating between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Turner took the legal process so far as to accuse Jonas of abducting a child and breaking international law by denying her permission to take the kids on a trip. Even though the lawsuit was ultimately abandoned, it brought attention to how serious the custody conflict was. In an effort to keep their disagreements quiet, the couple also tried mediation; nevertheless, when that failed to resolve the matter, the court had to step in.

The children’s different lifestyles were a major factor in the custody battle, which centred on where the kids would reside full-time. Jonas had work obligations in the United States, where he travelled much, and Turner desired to raise the kids in the United Kingdom.

Both Turner and Jonas are going on with their lives now that the custody disputes have been settled. Turner and British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson have been connected, and Jonas has allegedly dated a number of well-known people. The two have come to an agreement that permits them to co-parent their girls in spite of their highly publicised and contentious custody dispute.
