Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz has asked for a detailed plan to increase the export of pink salt, a valuable natural resource. Nawaz, realising the substantial worth of raw pink salt to the nation, ordered in a Lahore meeting that steps be made to prohibit its export.
The chief minister underlined the need for enhanced safety procedures and emphasised the need of protecting mining workers. Officials talked about how utilising contemporary technologies could improve the exploration and extraction of natural resources throughout the meeting.
Creating a pink salt value-added sector was also a major point of discussion.
Azma Zahid Bukhari, the provincial minister of information and culture, Principal Secretary Sajid Zafar Dal, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtarzaman, and Secretary of Minerals Babar Aman Babar were among those present at the meeting.
In an effort to increase the worth of Himalayan pink salt and increase exports, Pakistan and the American company Miracle Saltworks Collective Incorporation struck a deal earlier this year.
Former Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar hailed the pact as a historic victory for the country’s investment climate during the signing ceremony.
He emphasised that the $200 million investment is a clear indication of Pakistan’s support for foreign investment and its sound economic policies.
