Several significant steps to further the province’s development and welfare goals have been authorised by a provincial cabinet meeting presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Three significant initiatives were approved at the Lahore meeting: the Children’s Heart Surgery Program, the Chief Minister Green Tractor Program, and the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing program.
Along with these measures, the government approved new policies for admission to medical and dentistry colleges, established Punjab’s first life insurance firm, and stiffened penalties for illegal firearms and kite flying, all of which contributed to improvements in public health and safety.
Apni Chhat Apna Ghar, a housing project, will provide loans up to Rs1.5 million, payable over nine years in monthly installments of Rs 14,000 each.
Nine,500 of the 30,000 tractors that the Green Tractor Program plans to give to farmers will be distributed right now. The government also approved a substantial subsidy of one million rupees each tractor.
The 12,000 children who have pending heart procedures will have them expedited under the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Program. The cabinet decided to enhance the penalties for unlawful kite-flying, with terms ranging from two to five years in prison and fines between Rs. two and Rs. five million, in order to address public safety concerns.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also oversaw the streamlining of the loan application process and the transformation of the housing loan program into a fee-free revolving fund. The first installment of the loan program was to be contributed by all provincial ministers. The aforementioned projects demonstrate the province government’s dedication to augmenting infrastructure, providing assistance to farmers, refining healthcare, and guaranteeing public safety throughout Punjab.
