Tourists from seven countries reach Khunjerab in rickshaws for 'Tuk Tuk Adventure'

For the first time, tourists from seven countries made their way to the Khunjerab Border in rickshaws, starting their adventure from Islamabad.

This innovative travel concept, dubbed the “Tuk Tuk Adventure,” was proposed by a local tour company. They arranged for 10 auto-rickshaws, with the journey kicking off on September 24.

Tour guide Abdul Rahim spoke to the media, explaining that special rickshaws were rented from Rawalpindi for the foreign tourists, who drove themselves to reach the stunning region of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The group included travelers from Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, Ireland, and the United States, all of whom possessed valid international driving licenses. To accommodate the long journey in rickshaws, arrangements were made for the tourists to stay in Balakot, Batakundi, and Chilas.

Charlotte, one of the female tourists, noted that the trip to Gilgit-Baltistan was challenging and tiring, but the experience of traveling in a rickshaw made it truly memorable.

Mark, the group leader, remarked that getting there in rickshaws was a significant challenge, and they had practiced driving rickshaws upon their arrival in Pakistan.

Another tourist, Angie Taylor, shared that the breathtaking scenery was unparalleled, with the snow-capped peaks providing stunning backdrops for their adventure.
