Samantha Ruth Prabhu Heaps Praises On Alia Bhatt's Performance In Jigra: 'The Brave Choices You Make…'

In the midst of controversies, a low box office opening, and canceled press screenings, Jigra found an unexpected supporter: Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The actress took to Instagram Stories to praise Jigra star Alia Bhatt, calling her a “tigress” for her daring choices. She also commended director Vasan Bala and co-star Vedang Raina for their roles in bringing Jigra to life.

Sharing a poster of Jigra on her Stories, Samantha wrote, “Alia Bhatt, you tigress! Your performance was so fierce and full of life; I couldn’t look away! The brave choices you make and the high standards you set keep inspiring me.”

Samantha also lauded Vasan Bala and Vedang Raina, saying, “Vasan Bala, you’ve created something truly unique and have redefined how to showcase a female lead. The vibe of your film is unforgettable. Vedang Raina, what a talent! I’ll be watching for your future work. The lashings scene—absolutely gripping!”

Samantha further praised her friend Rahul Ravindran, stating, “Rahul, your best performance yet! The action scenes were incredible—you made me forget I was watching my best friend and not Muthu! Vivek, Manoj Ji, and the rest of the cast, you all have my heart. And Achint, your soundtrack and score will be in my head for a long time!”

On the other hand, Jigra faced criticism from Divya Khosla Kumar, who accused Alia of manipulating box office numbers. Sharing a photo of an empty theater on her Instagram Stories, Divya alleged that Alia inflated Jigra’s earnings, commenting, “I went to Citi Mall PVR for Jigra and the theater was empty. Alia Bhatt really does have courage, buying her own tickets and reporting fake collections. Curious why the media stays silent.”

So far, Jigra has grossed ₹16.6 crore, marking Alia Bhatt’s lowest opening since 2014’s Highway.
