Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has taken a bold step in strengthening the bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia by proposing the designation of Islamabad and Riyadh as twin cities. During a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Interior Minister, Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, the idea was warmly welcomed and supported by Saudi officials, as reported by Express News.

This initiative highlights the enduring friendship between the two nations and aims to deepen their bilateral ties. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki, along with senior Pakistani officials. Key discussions revolved around areas of mutual interest, including joint training programs for paramilitary forces, police exchanges, and combating human trafficking.

  • Bilateral Cooperation: Naqvi praised Saudi Arabia as a “brotherly Islamic nation” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to stronger ties, highlighting that Saudi citizens are welcome in Pakistan without needing a visa.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi expressed admiration for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030, which aims to elevate Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in economic and social development. The Saudi Deputy Interior Minister reciprocated with praise for Pakistan’s efforts and expressed eagerness to further deepen cooperation through mutual exchange programs and joint training initiatives for security forces.
