Explosions Rock Chandigarh Clubs Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang
Posted on November 27, 2024 by News Desk
On Monday night, explosions outside two popular clubs in Chandigarh shook the city, with reports linking the blasts to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The explosions occurred outside Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by famous rapper Badshah, and De’Orra Club, a local hotspot operated by businessmen.
Failed Extortion Attempts Behind the Blast?
The blasts, which occurred in the early hours of the night, were reportedly the result of failed extortion attempts by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In a shocking turn of events, a Facebook post from Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar (real name Satinderjit Singh) took responsibility for the attacks. Brar claimed that the explosions were meant as a warning to businesses that fail to pay “protection money.”
“This is just a reminder to those who refuse to listen. Pay up, or face the consequences,” the post read.
CCTV Footage and Damage
CCTV footage captured the horrifying moment when an individual hurled crude bombs at the clubs before fleeing the scene. The explosions shattered the glass windows of the establishments, though, thankfully, no injuries were reported. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, with no official comments yet from the owners of the clubs.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Notorious History
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, infamous for its criminal activities, has recently been in the news for a series of violent incidents. Bishnoi, currently in custody at Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat, is facing charges of cross-border drug smuggling. He is also believed to have masterminded the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Additionally, Rohit Godara, named in the post by Goldy Brar, is linked to several major crimes, including an alleged firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence and the murders of Moosewala and Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
Badshah’s Connection to the Blast
Rapper Badshah, who opened Seville Bar and Lounge in December 2023, was one of the targets of this attack. Known for his Bollywood contributions and multi-language music career, Badshah has co-owned multiple entertainment establishments. While he has not yet commented on the blast, his growing presence in the city’s nightlife scene makes him an unlikely target for criminal groups.
Ongoing Investigation and Gang Activity
While the authorities continue to investigate, this incident has raised concerns about the increasing influence of criminal gangs like the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the region. The gang, known for its violent extortion tactics and cross-border criminal activities, has also been linked to other high-profile incidents, including the murder of Baba Siddique in Mumbai.
Impact on Chandigarh’s Nightlife
For now, the explosions have sent shockwaves through Chandigarh’s vibrant nightlife scene. As police and security forces step up their efforts to tackle organized crime in the region, local businesses are left to reassess their security protocols.
The blast outside Badshah’s club serves as a chilling reminder of the dangers that can accompany fame and success in today’s tumultuous world.
