The Ministry of Religious Affairs has extended the deadline for submitting Hajj applications under the government scheme until December 10, 2024. This decision comes as the number of applications received so far has been lower than expected.

Key Announcements by the Ministry of Religious Affairs

  1. Deadline Extension:
    The initial deadline was set to expire today, but due to fewer applications, the new deadline is now December 10, 2024.
  2. Automatic Approval for Applications:
    • All applications received from November 18 to Tuesday have been approved automatically, eliminating the need for a ballot.
    • The Sponsorship Scheme applications were also approved without any ballot requirement.
  3. Sponsorship Scheme for Overseas Pakistanis:
    • Overseas Pakistanis are urged to deposit the sponsorship fee before the new deadline.
    • A total of 5,000 seats have been allocated for this scheme under the government’s quota.

Hajj 2025 Policy Highlights

  • Quota Distribution:
    A total of 179,210 Pakistanis will perform Hajj in 2025, divided equally between government and private Hajj schemes (89,605 seats each).
  • Payment Structure:
    • Initial deposit: Rs 200,000.
    • Second installment (for selected applicants): Rs 400,000.
    • Remaining balance: To be paid by February 10, 2025.
  • Estimated Hajj Cost:
    The total cost for Hajj is expected to range between Rs 1,075,000 and Rs 1,175,000.
  • Reserved Seats:
    • 1,000 seats for hardship cases.
    • 300 seats for laborers and low-income employees registered with EOBI or Workers Welfare Fund.

The Ministry will finalize the Hajj flight schedule after the application process concludes.
