In a game-changing development for Pakistan’s textile sector, Suboohi Arif, a graduate of NED University in Karachi, has created IntelliInspect—an innovative artificial intelligence-driven system designed to tackle one of the industry’s most persistent challenges: fabric defects.
IntelliInspect: A Game Changer in Textile Production
Fabric defects, a recurring issue for Pakistan’s largest export sector, lead to significant financial losses annually. IntelliInspect offers a revolutionary solution by enabling real-time detection of fabric quality issues, drastically reducing waste and improving profitability.
This pioneering technology employs high-speed sensors and cameras installed on textile production lines to detect flaws such as broken threads, stains, tears, and holes. Unlike traditional methods, IntelliInspect can analyze both grey (unprocessed) and finished fabrics, ensuring comprehensive quality control.
Exceptional Accuracy and Speed
In rigorous tests on over 3,000 fabric samples, IntelliInspect achieved an impressive 95% accuracy for knitted fabrics and 90% for woven fabrics. The system identifies defects in as little as 40 seconds, making it a highly efficient tool for manufacturers.
Broader Impact and Industry Potential
The potential applications of IntelliInspect extend beyond garment manufacturing to home furnishings, automotive textiles, and industrial fabrics. With its ability to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making through data-driven analytics, this innovation could boost Pakistan’s global competitiveness and save millions annually by minimizing rejected consignments in export markets.
Suboohi Arif is actively seeking collaborations with industry stakeholders to integrate IntelliInspect into manufacturing facilities. “This technology not only reduces costs but also enhances the overall quality of products,” she remarked.
With over half of Pakistan’s exports coming from the textile sector, the large-scale adoption of IntelliInspect could herald a new era of growth and efficiency, solidifying Pakistan’s position in the global textile market.
