Reham Khan’s Bold Statements on Imran Khan and Her Political Future

Reham Khan, a politician and the former wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, has once again made headlines with her sharp remarks. Speaking at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, she stated that Imran Khan could receive relief if he “begged for mercy” but dismissed the idea of him remaining in jail for an extended period.

Reham Khan’s Take on Imran Khan’s Bail

Reham Khan expressed her frustration over the media’s and political circles’ obsession with Imran Khan’s bail. She sarcastically remarked, “Everyone is obsessed with one person’s bail. But why so much concern? Even Trump will help the prisoner.” Although she did not name Imran directly, the reference was clear.

She further elaborated on how powerful global figures such as former US President Donald Trump and business tycoons like Elon Musk, the owners of Meta, and Amazon, stood by their allies. However, she claimed that such influential figures would not waste their time supporting Imran Khan. “People who shape the progressive world do not waste their time on failed and deposed leaders. They don’t make bad investments.”

Imran Khan’s Fate: Mercy or Extended Jail Time?

Reham Khan dismissed the notion that merely appealing through letters could secure Imran Khan’s release. She suggested that his best chance at relief would be if he “begged for mercy.” However, she remained skeptical about the idea of him being jailed for a long time. “He hasn’t even completed two years yet. No career politician has been imprisoned for such a long time.”

She also alleged that no friendly country was willing to offer asylum to Imran Khan, asserting, “Even if Western countries are eager to shelter him, the establishment will not let him leave.”

Reham Khan’s Political Ambitions

In a surprising move, Reham Khan announced her intention to launch her own political party rather than joining an existing one. She took the opportunity to criticize PTI’s media policies, claiming that she was banned from television appearances during their tenure.

Reham Khan emphasized that she had no personal interest in Imran Khan’s affairs. “I don’t follow any news about him, nor am I interested.” She even mocked the rumors that Imran had written letters pleading for clemency, sarcastically asking, “Were they written with ink or with his nose?”

She claimed to have personally witnessed PTI leaders “begging for mercy” in the past and suggested that similar actions might lead to Imran Khan’s eventual release.

Criticism of the Current Government

Beyond her remarks on Imran Khan, Reham Khan also voiced concerns over the governance in Pakistan. She criticized the lack of visible administration in Karachi and Lahore, stating, “There is no government visible in Karachi, and Lahore is not clean. Governance means making people’s lives easier.”

She also took a jab at the PPP for staying in the background while the PML-N bore the brunt of the government’s responsibilities. She predicted that “Whoever is in power now will complete their full five-year term.”

Sympathy for PTI’s Supporters

While she remained critical of PTI’s leadership, Reham expressed sympathy for its supporters, describing them as “innocent people who were misled.” However, she made it clear that her sympathy did not extend to PTI’s leadership. “If I had any sympathy for PTI’s leadership, things would have been different.”

With her controversial remarks and upcoming political move, Reham Khan is once again positioning herself at the center of political discourse in Pakistan. Whether her new political party will gain traction remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—she is not holding back.
