A Shocking Case of Wildlife Trafficking
In a heart-wrenching case of illegal wildlife trafficking, Pakistan Customs recently intercepted a group of exotic monkeys that had endured unimaginable suffering during their transport. These innocent creatures were found in a horrifying condition—starved, terrified, and confined in coffin-like boxes without access to food, water, or daylight. Their bodies were frail, their eyes filled with fear, and their distressed cries told the story of their ordeal.

ACF Animal Rescue Steps in for Urgent Care
When the news of this rescue broke, ACF Animal Rescue, an organization dedicated to animal welfare, immediately took charge of the situation. The team wasted no time in providing these traumatized monkeys with the urgent care and attention they needed. Temporary enclosures were set up overnight to offer them a safe and secure environment while a more permanent sanctuary was planned.
The new facility, currently under construction, is designed to provide these rescued animals with a natural and enriching space where they can heal. It will feature jungle gyms, old tree trunks, and other stimulating elements to help them regain their physical strength and mental well-being.

Comfort, Nutrition, and a Future Home
In the meantime, ACF has ensured that the monkeys are given every possible comfort. Soft blankets, stuffed toys, and a nutritious diet have been provided to help them feel secure and recover from their ordeal. The organization is also actively coordinating with internationally recognized wildlife sanctuaries to find a permanent home that closely resembles their natural habitat.
However, relocating these monkeys is a complex and costly process. It involves extensive paperwork and a mandatory four-month quarantine before they can be transferred to a long-term sanctuary. ACF is working tirelessly to navigate these challenges and ensure a smooth transition for the rescued animals.

A Call for Support
Speaking about this critical rescue effort, Ayesha Chundrigar, Founder of ACF Animal Rescue, emphasized the importance of giving these monkeys a second chance at life.
“Their suffering has been unimaginable, but we are committed to ensuring they never experience such cruelty again,” she said.
ACF Animal Rescue is calling on wildlife conservation organizations, donors, and animal lovers to support this mission. Those who wish to contribute to the rehabilitation and relocation of these monkeys can reach out to ACF for more details on how to help.
By working together, we can ensure that these innocent creatures, once victims of illegal wildlife trade, get the care and freedom they deserve.
