Saima Akram Chaudhary, the creative mind behind some of Pakistan’s most beloved drama serials, has been noticeably absent from the entertainment industry. Known for her exceptional storytelling, she has given us unforgettable dramas such as Suno Chanda, Hum Tum, Ishq Jalebi, and Chaudhary and Sons. However, fans have been wondering why she is no longer writing new scripts.
In a recent interview with Jahan Ramzan on 365 News, Saima Akram Chaudhary finally revealed the reason behind her long break from drama writing.

The Reason Behind Her Hiatus
Saima Akram Chaudhary shared that she had been continuously writing Ramzan special dramas for five consecutive years, with her projects airing on major channels like Geo Entertainment and Hum TV at the same time. While she was immensely appreciated for her work, she felt that her writing was becoming repetitive.
“I have written Ramzan dramas for five years for Geo and Hum. There were times when my dramas aired simultaneously on both channels. I felt that I had started repeating myself. Sometimes, writers begin to repeat their work and experience a lack of variety. That’s why I took a break, even though the channels didn’t want me to.”
Saima’s decision to step away was purely creative. She wanted to refresh her ideas and avoid redundancy in her storytelling. While the drama industry continues to evolve, her absence has left a significant void in the world of Pakistani entertainment.

Fans’ Reaction and Demand for Suno Chanda 3
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Saima Akram Chaudhary’s return to drama writing. Many expressed their disappointment on social media, stating that they lost interest in watching dramas after she stopped writing. The demand for Suno Chanda 3 is also at an all-time high, with audiences pleading for another season of the beloved series.
Despite her break, Saima remains one of Pakistan’s most cherished writers. Whether she returns to scriptwriting soon or takes more time off, one thing is certain—her contribution to the entertainment industry is irreplaceable.
