The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a strong warning about a fake parcel scam spreading through SMS and messaging apps. These fraudulent messages pretend to be from popular courier services and ask users to share or enter verification codes.
These scam messages often claim you have a parcel waiting and then request a verification code. Once shared, these codes can be misused to hack into your personal accounts, access your financial apps, or steal private data.
PTA made it clear:
“No real courier service ever asks you to share a verification code to deliver a parcel.”
PTA warns that giving out your verification code even by mistake can cause:
