Pakkay Dost is winning hearts, and now it has received a thumbs up from none other than popular actor Sajal Ali. On Tuesday, singer-songwriter Bilal Maqsood released the second volume of the children’s puppet show Pakkay Dost on YouTube, and it’s already creating waves online.
Sajal Ali took to social media to share her admiration for Maqsood’s latest work.
“Bilal Maqsood, you are doing a great job!” she wrote. Sajal especially appreciated how Pakkay Dost is bringing young viewers closer to the Urdu language.
“Urdu is a beautiful language and it’s high time we stop running away from it,” she stated, adding, “It was always cool! Let’s own it, celebrate it, and make it even cooler!”
After the first volume of Pakkay Dost received great feedback in 2023, Bilal Maqsood continued with the project to promote quality local content for children.
“Kids are being raised on foreign content. We can’t control what they watch, but we can offer them shows that are safe, fun, and teach them good values,” said Maqsood in a recent Instagram post.
He emphasized his dream to make Urdu appealing again.
“I made Pakkay Dost because I wanted to make Urdu cool,” he said. He also urged all parents and teachers to show this series to kids so they grow up with love and respect for their own language.
With colorful visuals, fun music, and strong storytelling, Pakkay Dost isn’t just another cartoon. Each episode gives children lessons on kindness, honesty, and cultural values all in easy-to-understand Urdu.
Parents and teachers across Pakistan have praised the show for filling a long-standing gap in quality children’s entertainment in the country. It’s a source of both joy and learning, making it the perfect choice for families.
In January, Maqsood partnered with ConnectHear to include sign language in Pakkay Dost. This step ensures that hearing-impaired children can also enjoy the magic of the show.
“We’re not just adding sign language,” said Arhum Ishtiaq, CTO and Co-Founder of ConnectHear. “We’re adding joy, imagination, and inclusion to every deaf child’s life.”
Maqsood also shared his excitement, saying, “Our mission is to bring joy, learning, and cultural enrichment to every child. This partnership makes Pakkay Dost truly inclusive.”
With more episodes in the pipeline, Maqsood is committed to creating more content that uplifts, entertains, and educates children. His vision is simple but powerful: give kids content that connects them to their language and culture while teaching them values that will last a lifetime.
