Pakistan’s young minds have made the nation proud! A team of four talented students won bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2025. This exciting event took place in Sucre, Bolivia, from July 27 to August 3. Their achievement shows the growing strength of Pakistan’s youth in computer science and programming.
The team included Muhammad Aneeq, Ghulam Junaid, Muhammad Saram, and Ahmed Imran Malik. Each student earned a bronze medal, bringing honor to Pakistan. The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) praised their hard work and dedication. This success highlights the bright future of Pakistan’s tech talent.
Out of 86 countries, Pakistan secured an impressive 32nd place. The team outperformed several advanced nations, including Germany, Austria, Turkey, France, and Italy. This achievement is a big leap from last year when Pakistan ranked 46th with only two bronze medals. The progress shows Pakistan’s growing presence in global tech competitions.
The FBISE organized Pakistan’s participation with a clear and fair selection process. They invited students from all over the country, including those from Cambridge schools. Over 528 students registered for the Pakistan Olympiad in Informatics (POI). The competition had two tough rounds held in 12 cities, like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Only the top 25 students moved to the second round, and the final four were chosen to represent Pakistan.
The students’ success didn’t come easy. They worked hard, solving complex coding problems during the IOI. The competition tested their skills in programming and problem-solving over two days. Each day, they tackled three challenging tasks in five hours. Their ability to think creatively and stay calm under pressure helped them win those bronze medals.
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training gave FBISE the responsibility to manage Pakistan’s participation. The ministry sent notifications to all education boards through the Inter Boards Coordination Committee (IBCC). This ensured students from different backgrounds could join. The FBISE thanked the students’ families, coaches, and schools for their support in this proud moment.
This victory is more than just medals. It shows the world that Pakistan’s youth are ready to compete in technology and innovation. The FBISE called this achievement a “testament to the immense potential” of young Pakistanis. It also proves that Pakistan’s education system is moving in the right direction, preparing students for global challenges.
Winning four bronze medals at IOI 2025 is a big deal. It puts Pakistan on the global map for computer science. It also inspires other students to explore coding and technology. With more support and opportunities, Pakistan’s young talent can achieve even greater success in the future.
Let’s cheer for Muhammad Aneeq, Ghulam Junaid, Muhammad Saram, and Ahmed Imran Malik! Their hard work and talent have made Pakistan proud. This milestone at IOI 2025 shows that Pakistan’s future in technology is bright. Keep supporting our young stars as they shine on the world stage!
