National cricketers uncertain about fees for Champions One-Day Cup

The national cricket players who are scheduled to play in the Champions One-Day Cup are still unaware of their match money. Top Pakistani players will compete in the competition, which begins in Faisalabad on Thursday. However, information about their pay is still a work in progress. The details state that, in contrast to international matches, players with national central contracts will only be paid half of the match money for home games.

The One-Day match cost used to be Rs644,620, which meant that each match would earn players Rs322,310. They will be paid the same pay as domestic cricket players for the Champions Cup, which is held outside of Pakistan’s domestic schedule, as long as no new deal has been made with the players. For the Pakistan Cup One-Day Tournament, domestic cricket players receive Rs60,000 per match, while non-playing members are paid Rs 20,000.

The five Champions Cup mentors, Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Saqlain Mushtaq, were first said to only be participating for the competition and to receive a salary of Rs5 million. Now that a three-year agreement has been reached, the PCB will receive a remuneration of Rs. 5 million per month from the mentors.

These mentors will continue to oversee talent scouting camps and provide help to youngsters at academies following the Champions Cup. Consequently, the mentors’ pay are higher than those of elite cricket players such as Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Babar Azam, who were previously paid Rs4.5 million a month under central contracts.
