Pakistan secure bronze in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy after eight years

Pakistan defeated South Korea 5-2 to secure third place and the bronze medal in the Asian Champions Trophy on Tuesday. The game, which took place at Inner Mongolia’s Moqi Hockey Training Base, saw a strong showing from the Green Shirts. Notable players Sufyan Khan and Hannan Shahid each scored two goals, and Roman Khan added one more to ensure victory.

Pakistan and China had a thrilling semifinal match earlier in the competition.

After regular time, the game finished in a 1-1 draw. In the second quarter, China took the lead, and in the third, Ahmed Nadeem of Pakistan tied the score.

China emerged victorious in a penalty shootout to settle the match and secure their place in the finals. China will play India in the final after the latter team qualified by defeating South Korea 4-1 in the second semi-final. If India wins today’s final against China, it will be the fifth Asian Champions Trophy trophy won by the country.
