If perfection exists!

Meherbano Sethi of Luscious Cosmetics shares with the readers of Brides & You, a romantic tale of her life with her beloved husband Nauman.

When did you get married and how old were the two of you?

We got married in April 2006. I was 26 and Nauman was 28.

Was your marriage an arranged one or not?

It was not arranged, but both our families were very happy and supportive of the marriage.

How and where did you meet?

We met through mutual friends at a New Years Eve party in 2004.

What made you two decide that you were perfect for each other?

We were good friends and had a lot in common with each other. We also share similar views on life in general, and that made it very easy for us to decide.

One thing you remember about your wedding day?

The one unforgettable thing about my wedding day was my wedding dress! It was an exquisite creation by my good friend Umer Sayeed. I felt like a princess when I wore it.

One thing you wish you could have added to the ceremony:

Nothing. It was a really nice occasion attended by friends and family. All our loved ones were there for this special day.

What was the wedding night gift for the bride?

It was a very pretty diamond pendant from Tiffany and Co.

Where did you have your honeymoon? Who decided on the place and why?

We went to Turkey for our honeymoon. We spent part of it in Istanbul and the part of it in Bodrum, in the South of Turkey. Bodrum is a magical place, a quiet Mediterranean coast town. I had been to Turkey a number of times before, and suggested to Nauman that it should be our honeymoon destination because I somehow knew he would love it, and I was right.

What was the one perfect moment of your honeymoon?

We chartered a yacht and spent a perfect day sailing the islands around Bodrum. The water was an azure blue and the weather was fantastic. We had a great crew that catered to our every whim and served us lunch on a deserted beach with ancient Roman ruins in the background. It was a sublime day.

What was the most embarrassing moment during your honeymoon?

There are none that I can remember!

A favourite activity that the two of you enjoyed on your honeymoon?

We loved swimming and lying by the pool every time we were at a beach. We also visited a lot of historic sites in Turkey.

What was the most shocking thing about him which you discovered on the honeymoon?

I wasn’t really shocked by anything, except the fact that he absolutely hates shopping!

What was the most shocking thing about her that you discovered on the honeymoon?

The amount of luggage she travels with! My things took up barely half a suitcase, and she had two full suitcases.

The one thing you would change if you had the chance about your honeymoon?

Nothing.

Who gives in first when you fight?

We’re both very good at making up after a fight and never let it go on for long.

What is your song?

Never Tear Us Apart by INXS.

The first movie you saw as a couple? How did you like it?

We are both movie buffs. The first movie we saw was Peter Jackson’s King Kong, and we loved it.

The one relative or friend of your spouse whose company you enjoy the most, and why?

None that we can think of.

Favourite activity as a couple now?

Watching movies, traveling and hanging out with our close friends.

Which was the best time of your life? Before marriage? The honeymoon or now? Or still waiting? Other?

All of the above. Of course, we hope the best is yet to come.
