A new WhatsApp Plus paid subscription could soon change how users experience the popular messaging app. According to reports from beta-tracking platform WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a premium tier that will offer additional customization features while keeping the basic messaging service free for everyone.

The WhatsApp Plus paid subscription is expected to unlock several personalization tools designed for users who enjoy customizing their apps. One of the standout additions is the ability to switch between multiple new themes and visual styles.
Subscribers may also get access to 14 different app icons, allowing them to change how WhatsApp appears on their phone’s home screen. Extra color themes and exclusive notification sounds are reportedly part of the package as well, giving the app a more personalized feel.
Another notable perk linked to the WhatsApp Plus paid subscription is a higher chat-pinning limit. Currently, users can pin only three chats at the top of their conversation list. With the premium plan, that limit could increase to up to 20 pinned chats, making it easier for people to keep important conversations within reach.
Reports also suggest that subscribers may receive exclusive sticker packs and additional interactive features to enhance messaging. These could include richer chat animations and other visual improvements designed to make conversations more engaging.
At the moment, there is no official confirmation about the release date or pricing of the new premium tier. While details continue to surface through beta updates tracked by WABetaInfo, the final set of features could still evolve before the official rollout.
For now, users can expect that WhatsApp will keep its core messaging experience free, while offering optional upgrades through the upcoming WhatsApp Plus paid subscription.
