Based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel, ‘IT’ is the story of a few bullied kids banding together when a shape shifting demon takes the appearance of a clown, in Derry, Maine. This group of so called ‘Losers’ take upon themselves, a journey through sewers and woods to find a mythical creature called Pennywise. Cinematographer Chung Chung-hoon, has his cameras gliding beautifully around the action, which lends an epic cinematic grandeur to the widening horizons of youth. The ‘Losers’ get involved in outdoor fights and bike chases which are memorable. For all its horror trappings, this is still a story in which battles with the supernatural can be definitively curtailed when your mom turns up unexpectedly. Go ahead and buy your tickets if you haven’t already.
