Pakistani actress and model Mehrunisa Iqbal has spoken about a troubling experience she faced while working during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering a glimpse into the pressures artists experienced behind the scenes.
During a discussion about her work during that challenging period, Mehrunisa recalled how demanding her schedule had become. She was working continuously, spending extended periods away from her family, and admitted that she was not paying enough attention to her diet. The physically exhausting routine eventually took a toll on her health.

Mehrunisa said she developed a high fever while filming a drama during the pandemic. Concerned about her condition, she asked the production team to arrange transportation so she could visit a hospital for a check-up.
She was taken to the hospital with a driver and later returned to the drama set. However, what happened after her return left her feeling particularly uncomfortable.
According to Mehrunisa, a senior female artist asked about her absence. When she explained that she had developed a fever and had gone to the hospital, the actress reportedly became upset, particularly because COVID-19 was spreading at the time.
Mehrunisa recalled being questioned about why she had hugged the senior artist earlier. She described the response as rude and said it was difficult to deal with while she was already physically weak.
The matter eventually came to the attention of the production team after the producer learned about the incident. Mehrunisa said the producer and other members of the team confronted the senior actress and questioned her behavior.
Rather than identifying the artist involved, Mehrunisa chose to speak about the experience itself. Her account highlighted how stressful working conditions during the pandemic could affect relationships among cast and crew members.
The actress also used the experience to make a broader point about professional relationships within the entertainment industry. In her view, respect should work both ways and should not depend solely on someone’s age or position.
Her comments underline an important aspect of life on a drama set: while experience and seniority deserve recognition, younger artists also deserve to be treated with dignity and consideration.
Mehrunisa’s decision not to name the senior artist keeps the focus on the larger issue rather than turning the incident into a personal controversy. Her recollection instead draws attention to the importance of empathy, professionalism, and mutual respect in the workplace.
