Totkay: Handy Tips

FRESH CREAM, GOOD AS NEW:

If fresh cream turns a bit sour, worry not! Add a pinch of baking soda and half a tsp of sugar. Whip. Add two drops of vanilla essence. The cream will be as good as new.

FOR HANDY PEPPERS ALWAYS:

Red pepper and green pepper can be frozen for months. Chop them finely, add a bit of salt and cooking oil, they will remain fresh.

FOR IRON STAINS:

If your iron has left stains on your clothes, wash them with hot water, rub on some lemon and salt, wash again with hot water and the stain will be a thing of the past.

FOR FOOT CORNS:

If you have corns on your feet and they hurts, grind phatkari (alum) and add it to egg white. Apply on the corn and in a week’s time it’ll get better.

SERVE ICE CREAM THE RIGHT WAY:

To save ice cream from melting, keep the serving bowls in the fridge for two hours before you serve.
