PANTENE HUM BRIDAL COUTURE WEEK CELEBRATED ITS 20TH EDITION WITH A STAR-STUDDED DAY 1

Pakistan’s biggest and most sough-after bridal extravaganza, Pantene HUM Bridal Couture Week (PHBCW) celebrated its 20th edition in Lahore with a star-studded line up of celebrities as show-stoppers for various brands on day one. Organized under the banner of HUM Network Limited, PHBCW is the country’s most opulent and highest profile bridal event, taking place consecutively since 2010. The event features latest trends and designs in bridal couture and has become the ultimate choice for Pakistan’s top and burgeoning designers, couture lovers, influential individuals, buyers, celebrities and socialites. This year, with Pantene as its title sponsor PHBCW will be showcasing 26 designers on the runway.

Show one of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with Fahad Hussayn’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection “Ghar, Gharasti, Gehnay” in collaboration with Wahab Shah Dance Company. The showcase was a revolutionary bridal interpretation with the brand’s fine artistry, intricate detailing and the label’s signature finishes under the exquisite design of novelty Couture portraying decadence and opulence at Fahad Hussayn. This was followed by Haris Shekeel who presented his collection.  Next in line was designer label Deepak & Fahad’s ‘Jashn-e-Zindagi’ which encompassed the experimental and innovative approach that the brand is known for; followed by Shoaib Ismail’s ‘Shehar Bano’, inspired by the magnificent style of a royal family paying homage to the grace and charm of Shehr Bano, daughter of Ali Adil Shah. Designer Ali Haider came next with his modern collection ‘Bazgha’, an exploration of the rich culture and craftsmanship that is unique to Pakistan.

Second show of the first day commenced with Kanwal Malik’s ‘Mehrunisa’, the collection was crafted with luxurious materials and embellishing techniques that were a perfect blend of skilful artistry and workmanship. Next in line was designer Munib Nawaz with his collection ‘Untitled’ which was a tribute to everything incomplete, not done yet perfect at the same time. Reema Ahsan was next to showcase her collection ‘Ishq’, embodying the concept of “love” with the collection’s enchanting silhouettes. Day one came to an end with Zonia Anwaar’s ‘Maysa’, featuring traditional bridal couture along with a newly launched segment of menswear. Colours and the silhouettes were fresh, youthful, vibrant and perfect for any occasion of the wedding festivities.

Day one of the three-day bridal extravaganza had a brilliant line-up of celebrities walking for the designers – Sabeeka Imam, Fehmeen, Saboor Aly, Ali Grehen, Risham Faiz, while singers Hassan and Rahim and Wahab Shah show-stopped for Fahad Hussayn. The gorgeous Minal Khan walked for Haris Shakeel, while Hareem Farooq and singer Sehar Gul graced the ramp for Shoaib Ismail. Designer Ali Haider presented Sadaf Kanwal and Saad Qureshi as his show-stoppers whereas the uber talented Ayeza Khan walking the ramp for Kanwal Malik. The incredible Kubra Khan added allure to Reema Ahsan’s collection while QB and Mehreen Syed walked the ramp for Zonia Anwaar.

Choreographer for PHBCW 2022 is Salwa Rafique and HUM Special Projects and Events Team, while hair and makeup is by NPro and NGents. Arsalan Ihsan is the emcee for the event and DJ Moazzam presented the music for the shows. Backstage is managed by Salwa Rafique, and Ahsan Qureshy is the official photographer. Show production and execution is being managed by the Special Projects and Events team at HUM Network Limited.

Fahad Hussayn presents “Ghar, Gharasti, Gehnay” Spring/Summer 2023 at the 20th Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week, Pakistan. The campaign is a revolutionary bridal interpretation of the everyday woman captivated by timeless elegance of traditions and culture. This campaign revamps the customary definition of ghar, gharasti and gehnay through various performing art forms in collaboration with Wahab Shah Dance Company.
To give perspective to the execution of this campaign, PRINT MUSEUM visualizes the revival of classics through contemporary trends of wedding culture infused into exquisite designs. Mastered with precision, the Spring Summer ’23 collection depicts signature Fahad Hussayn designing in a unique version of intricate detailing on heavily embellished wedding wears.
The campaign introduces a range of signature weddings, wedding essentials and limited-edition wedding and embroidery series under the categories of womenswear and menswear consisting of looks for the upcoming festive seasons for Print Museum. While for the finale, Fahad Hussayn Couture brings the best of the brands’ artistry accomplished with intricate detailing and label’s signature finishes under an exquisite design of Novelty Couture portraying decadence and opulence at Fahad Hussayn.

Deepak & Fahad’s PHBCW collection is a tribute to the brand’s journey, struggles, challenges and achievements. Deepak & Fahad as a brand has always been pushing the boundaries with out of the box ideas and techniques. The collection encompasses the experimental and innovative approach that the brand is known for. All the pieces are trendy, sophisticated and magnificent. The collection has been brought to life with pure raw silk, adorned with hand embroidery, machine embroidery, foil printing and digital printing. Shoaib Ismail

Collection Name: Shehar Bano

Shoaib Ismail’s PHBCW collection is inspired by the magnificence of a royal family and pays homage to the grace and charm of Shehr Bano, daughter of Ali Adil shah.  The collection is all about nobility, authority and beauty. Shehr Bano features handmade bridal, formal and men’s wear outfit ornamented with hand embellished motifs explicitly designed for the ensemble. Crafted in the finest of fabrication such as Kimkhab, pure raw silk, velvet, kundan zari and net fabric, the collection uses rich vibrant shades of bridals formals & men’s couture wear.

Ali Haider

Collection Name: Bazgha

BAZGHA marks Ali Haider’s debut on the runway in Pakistan. The collection explores new terrain for the designer, a true exploration of the rich culture and craftsmanship that is unique to Pakistan. Bazgha takes its inspiration from the rich sub continental traditions and master craftsmanship. This collection is a celebration of Pakistan from Ali’s eyes.

Collection Name: Mehrunisa
