GOOGLE ANNOUNCES PLANS TO MANUFACTURE 0.5 MILLION CHROMEBOOKS IN PAKISTAN.

Global internet giant Google on Thursday launched a major project to produce 500,000 Chromebooks in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was presented with the first Chromebook during the launch ceremony, which took place in Islamabad. The PM was shown the gadget by Google Asia Pacific President Scott Beaumont.
Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Farhan Qureshi, emphasized that putting an emphasis on technology would boost the country’s economy. He emphasized the many chances for independent contractors in the tech industry to prosper and advance the nation.
During his speech at the function, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Google’s efforts both domestically and internationally. He emphasized the youth’s potential in the field of information technology (IT) and mentioned how they may propel Pakistan’s economic growth.
The prime minister made a call to action for the federal and local governments to set aside funds for youth empowerment and education.
Additionally, he announced the government’s audacious goal of achieving $25 billion in IT exports over the following five years, saying that this objective is doable.
PM Shehbaz called on IT professionals and business owners to create plans that would support the expansion of freelancers and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) while also assisting the government in reaching this goal.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to digitize Pakistan’s governance frameworks in order to achieve a paperless and corrupt-free government.
The prime minister announced the appointment of a new Secretary to the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, stating that a transparent recruiting process was followed.
Under PM Shehbaz’s vision, Google has been instrumental in propelling Pakistan’s digitization efforts, as stated by State Minister for Information Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
Google’s dedication to assisting Pakistan in its digital transition and promoting economic prosperity via technical advancement is seen in this effort.
