ISLAMABAD: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster agricultural cooperation aiming at growing the regional agriculture sector and raising the productivity of agricultural goods is scheduled to be signed by Pakistan and Russia.
Additionally, Russia will offer Pakistani fertiliser production facilities technical support to update their processes in order to increase fertiliser output and satisfy local demand for agricultural inputs. According to a news statement, Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khuriev and Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain met and came to this agreement.
Mutually beneficial topics were discussed at the meeting, with an emphasis on strengthening industrial and agricultural sector cooperation as well as fostering trade and investment ties between the two nations.
Tanveer underscored Pakistan’s dedication to fortifying its bilateral ties with Russia, specifically in the areas of commerce and investment. In order to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties, he pledged that Pakistan will provide Russian investors with every assistance imaginable.
The minister further emphasised that raising agricultural output required the use of contemporary agricultural machinery and other inputs. He pointed out that technology transfer would be made easier by bilateral agricultural cooperation, increasing animal output and the productivity of major and minor crops alike.
In addition, in an effort to increase the amount of crops produced per acre in Pakistan, Ambassador Khuriev extended an invitation to Pakistani agricultural specialists to visit Russia and impart their experience to Russian agri-scientists and experts. He said that in order to help Pakistan promote and grow its agricultural industry, Russia would provide Pakistan with cutting-edge farming equipment.
The conference was also attended by the secretaries of the ministries of industries and production, Saif Anjum, and national food security and research, Amir Mohyudin.
