Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government for prioritizing “vandalism and attacks” over addressing the public’s needs.
Speaking at an event in Faisalabad, she pointed out that many patients from K-P are often found seeking medical treatment in Punjab’s hospitals.
Maryam underscored that, unlike previous leaders who made empty promises, her administration has made real progress by prioritizing merit. She mentioned that despite facing opposition within her own party, she ensured that 90% of her government comprised capable young individuals.
In the last six months, her government has created 1,000 jobs for young people, all selected based on merit rather than personal recommendations.
Additionally, she announced the upcoming launch of Pakistan’s largest-ever farmer support package, worth Rs 400 billion, scheduled for next year.
On healthcare, she highlighted a backlog of 15,000 children awaiting heart surgeries, with immediate arrangements made for 100 surgeries, including several for children from K-P.
Maryam urged the leadership of K-P to focus on public welfare and infrastructure development instead of indulging in destructive actions and provocative rhetoric.
