URGENT ALERT FOR ANDROID USERS: DELETE THIS DANGEROUS APP MASQUERADING AS GOOGLE CHROME

Experts are warning Android users about a malware-infected app that disguises itself as legitimate platforms like Google Chrome to carry out fraudulent activities.
The malware targets users’ bank accounts and can access sensitive personal information. Cybersecurity researchers from ThreatFabric, an Amsterdam-based company, have identified a new variant of the Octo Android malware, known as Octo 2, which is now spreading across Europe.
In April 2022, the company had flagged the original Octo banking trojan, but Octo 2 has undergone significant modifications, making it much more difficult to detect. This advanced malware allows hackers to remotely lock and mute a device’s screen, launch apps, and send malware-infected messages to contacts.
One of its most dangerous features is its ability to infiltrate users’ SMS, allowing hackers to intercept any security codes received via text messages.
