The Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department of the Sindh government has launched Pakistan’s first-ever online auction for premium number plates.
Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced on social media that the auction will feature premium number plates in three categories—platinum, gold, and silver—to raise funds for the Sindh People’s Housing Project, aimed at supporting flood victims.
All proceeds from the auction will go towards this housing project to aid those affected by the devastating floods.
Memon emphasized that this initiative marks a significant move by the Sindh government toward modernizing public services. Citizens can register online and participate in the auction to acquire special number plates while contributing to a worthy cause.
Participants can register via the website https://premiumnumber.excise.gos.pk/ or through the department’s mobile app. Registration for the auction will remain open for three days.
Earlier, in June, the Sindh government hosted its first premium number plate auction at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi, where vehicle owners were able to customize their cars with exclusive, high-status plates.
The auction featured three categories to cater to different preferences and budgets. The prestigious platinum category offered highly coveted three-character plates, with bidding starting at an impressive Rs 2 million.
