Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar recently revealed that he worked as a ‘peon’ at a travel agency in Kolkata back in 1984, earning a modest salary of about $10 to $15 per month. This revelation surfaced during the promotional activities for his film Raksha Bandhan, where he discussed his nostalgic connection to the iconic Globe Cinema, which is set to reopen on October 8.
At just 15 or 16 years old, Akshay often watched movies at Globe Cinema while juggling his job at the travel agency. Satyadeep Saha, the current manager of the cinema, has extended an invitation to Akshay to attend the reopening ceremony as a special guest.
In various interviews, Akshay has reflected on his early jobs, highlighting how he supported himself through humble earnings before achieving stardom in Bollywood.
