Hajj 2025: Banks Open This Weekend to Facilitate Applications
Posted on November 30, 2024 by News Desk

In a move to ensure smooth processing of Hajj 2025 applications, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has directed 15 designated banks across the country to keep their branches open this weekend—Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 2024. This decision comes as part of efforts to assist aspiring pilgrims in submitting their applications and dues ahead of the December 3 deadline.
The banks will operate between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., providing ample time for individuals to complete the necessary steps. This initiative follows a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, reflecting the government’s commitment to streamlining the Hajj application process.
Reduced Airfares: A Relief for Pilgrims
Adding to the good news, the Pakistani government has announced a significant reduction in airfares for Hajj 2025. The airfare has been reduced by Rs 14,000, with pilgrims enrolled in the federal program now paying Rs 220,000, down from last year’s Rs 234,000. This relief package, agreed upon by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudi Airlines, and private carriers, is expected to ease financial burdens on Hajj aspirants.
Key Application Details
As of November 28, 2024, the number of Hajj applications under the government scheme has reached 24,266, with a significant increase in submissions over the past few days. On November 27 alone, 4,000 applications were received. Applicants are required to:
- Submit an initial installment of Rs. 2 lakh along with their application.
- Deposit the remaining Rs. 4 lakh within 10 days of the draw, scheduled for December 6, 2024.
The application process has gained momentum as the deadline approaches, with thousands of aspiring pilgrims ensuring their participation in this spiritual journey.
Why This Matters
This streamlined process, combined with reduced airfares, represents a positive step towards making Hajj 2025 more accessible to the public. The efforts of the SBP and the Ministry of Religious Affairs demonstrate a strong commitment to addressing the logistical and financial challenges faced by pilgrims.
For aspiring pilgrims, this weekend offers a final chance to complete their application process conveniently.
