Kaghan Valley, known for its breathtaking natural beauty, once again proved its charm during Eidul Azha, drawing an extraordinary number of visitors. Over 60,000 Kaghan Valley Eid tourists arrived to celebrate their holidays amid majestic mountains, lush greenery, and serene rivers. The picturesque destinations of Shogran, Kaghan, and Naran were buzzing with life as families and adventurers flocked to enjoy the region’s summer glory.

Record Influx of Eid Tourists in Kaghan Valley

According to the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), the valley saw a remarkable rise in tourist numbers during the three-day Eidul Azha holidays. Approximately 12,000 vehicles and 3,700 motorcycles made their way through the scenic routes, bringing eager travelers into the heart of the valley. This surge included around 8,000 small vehicles and 4,000 large ones, highlighting the popularity of the area among both individual families and larger travel groups.

This growing love for the valley underscores its reputation as one of Pakistan’s top summer destinations. From the cool breeze of Naran to the misty forests of Shogran, every part of the valley offered a refreshing escape from urban heat and noise.

KDA Steps Up for Seamless Tourist Experience

Understanding the challenges that come with large crowds, the Kaghan Development Authority, under the special directive of Director General Shabbir Khan, made thoughtful preparations in advance. To handle the surge efficiently, KDA established four Tourist Facilitation Centres across the valley. These centers served as support hubs where tourists could get information, assistance, and quick solutions to travel-related issues.

In a proactive move, DG Shabbir Khan also cancelled all staff leaves during Eid to ensure full deployment of personnel. Assistant Director Planning, Asad Shehzad, confirmed that the valley is capable of handling up to 100,000 tourists, and the entire KDA team was committed to maintaining order and hospitality throughout the holidays.

Enhanced Safety and Cleanliness Measures

To make the tourist experience safe and smooth, tourism police officers were actively stationed across busy points to direct traffic and help visitors. In collaboration with local administration, special arrangements were made to manage the post-Eid disposal of animal waste, preserving the natural beauty and cleanliness of the valley.

Moreover, to prevent traffic congestion in the popular Naran Bazaar, illegal encroachments were removed—another step taken to enhance mobility and maintain a pleasant environment for tourists.

Following the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mansehra District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur deployed over 1,500 police personnel across the region to manage law and order, provide security, and offer on-ground support.
