UK and Middle Eastern Institutions Collaborate to Launch 280 Skills Centers in Pakistan
The UK government, along with several Middle Eastern institutions, is collaborating to establish 280 skills centers throughout Pakistan, aiming to create millions of job opportunities for Pakistanis worldwide.
A delegation from the UK, including representatives from UK universities and GEMS Middle East, is currently visiting Pakistan to develop a project centered on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
This initiative is a joint effort with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) in Pakistan to provide comprehensive training and certification. The certifications will be jointly awarded by institutions from Pakistan, the UK, and Gulf countries, ensuring that the skills acquired are globally recognized.
The primary objective is to equip individuals with essential skills for sectors such as security, hospitality, and construction, making them eligible for jobs abroad, especially in Gulf countries like Dubai. In its first phase, the initiative aims to generate 80,000 job opportunities in these industries.
This project represents a significant step toward tackling unemployment in Pakistan and offering better job prospects globally. By providing high-quality training and internationally recognized certifications, the initiative will empower Pakistanis to access improved career opportunities and contribute positively to the global workforce.
