Rawalpindi Students Face Charges After Protest Over Lahore Incident

Three separate First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered at the Newtown police station against students and demonstrators, as per Express News. The charges include roadblocks, arson, vandalism, injuring a police officer, and aiding criminal activities.
Sub-Inspector Umar Siddique filed one FIR, naming Waseef Javed and 53 other identified individuals, with an additional 180 unnamed. The case involves accusations of organizing protests on social media and leading demonstrators, including Ammar Satti, Mehr Shehryar, and Qazi Arbab. Four Punjab Constabulary officers were injured in the clashes.
Another FIR was filed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Haseeb, naming 51 individuals, including Ammar Satti, Mehr Shehryar, and Qazi Arbab, with 105 unknown participants. Police officer Usama Jameel was injured in this incident, and 51 protesters were arrested.
The third FIR was registered by ASI Azhar Mushtaq, once again naming Ammar Satti, Mehr Shehryar, Qazi Arbab, and Zain Ali, along with 64 others, with 140 unnamed. This group is accused of violating Section 144, blocking roads, engaging in arson, and resisting police efforts.
