Pakistani Taekwondo Team Triumphs At Asian Open

In an exceptional display of talent and technique, Pakistan’s taekwondo team clinched the championship title at the 6th Asian Open (Khyurogi) Taekwondo Championship in Indonesia, securing 3 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals. This marks a historic achievement for Pakistan as it’s the first time both male and female athletes have reached such a milestone on the international taekwondo stage.
Kazakhstan secured second place, while Malaysia came in third. Pakistan was honored as the best team by the Asian Taekwondo Union. Shahzeb Khan was named the best athlete for earning the highest points, while Master Yousuf Karami was awarded the best coach.
In the -58 kg final, Haroon Khan won gold by defeating fellow Pakistani Abubakar Siddique with scores of 6-4 and 9-7. In the women’s +73 kg final, Manisha Ali earned gold, beating Indonesia’s Parmata Sri 4-1 and 8-2.
Lt Col (r) Raja Wasim Ahmed, President of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation, along with CEO Omar Saeed and Patron-in-Chief Kooboong Kim, congratulated the team for their outstanding performance, attributing the success to hard work, team spirit, and dedication.
