Green-Marked Bike Lanes Introduced in Lahore: A Step Toward Safer Roads

In an effort to improve urban mobility and road safety, Lahore has introduced dedicated green-marked bike lanes for cyclists and motorcyclists. This forward-thinking initiative is designed to reduce accidents and ensure smoother traffic flow across the city, bringing Lahore closer to global urban infrastructure standards.

A Safer and Sustainable Future

The first phase of the project focuses on a 10-kilometer stretch along Ferozepur Road, from Canal Road to Lahore Bridge. These lanes, marked with a vibrant green color for high visibility, are expected to make commuting safer for two-wheeler riders, ensuring better organization on the roads.

Punjab Chief Minister has directed officials to maintain high-quality construction standards, emphasizing the project’s importance in promoting safer and more efficient urban mobility.

This initiative not only aims to address the growing challenges of urban traffic but also highlights Lahore’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and adopting sustainable transportation solutions.

Fog Causes Motorway Closures

While Lahore makes strides in improving road safety, other parts of Punjab have faced challenges due to severe fog. Sections of the M2, M11, and M5 motorways were recently closed, causing significant travel disruptions. Dense fog has reduced visibility, leading motorway authorities to take precautionary measures to avoid accidents.

Motorway police have advised travelers to avoid unnecessary journeys during these conditions and to strictly follow traffic guidelines. Updates on the reopening of affected sections are expected as visibility improves.

As Lahore steps into a future with safer roads and dedicated bike lanes, this initiative serves as a reminder of the need for continued innovation and awareness in urban planning.
