Pakistani Pilgrims to Spend Over Rs9.94 Billion on Sacrificial Animals
As the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj 2025 approaches, Pakistani pilgrims are set to make significant contributions toward fulfilling their religious obligations. According to sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), pilgrims will collectively spend a staggering Rs9.94 billion on sacrificial animals this year.
Each pilgrim has contributed Rs55,500 for the sacrificial arrangements under the government scheme. So far, over 35,000 pilgrims have deposited this amount, totaling Rs1.94 billion. This highlights the dedication and organized efforts toward ensuring a smooth Hajj experience for all.
Hajj 2025 Pilgrim Statistics
This year, a total of 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Hajj under both government and private schemes. The breakdown includes:
- 89,605 Pilgrims under the government scheme.
- 89,605 Pilgrims through private arrangements.
The government has ensured that all necessary arrangements, including accommodations and facilities, are in place to provide a comfortable and fulfilling journey for the pilgrims.
Key Agreements and Support from Saudi Arabia
On January 13, 2025, the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, signed the annual Hajj agreement in Riyadh. Under this agreement:
- Pakistani pilgrims will benefit from reduced rates for accommodation in Mina.
- The Saudi government has pledged full support to ensure the best facilities for Pakistani pilgrims.
Additionally, Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain will attend the International Hajj Conference and Expo in Jeddah, where further agreements will be established to enhance the services for pilgrims.
