In this article I am going to talk about diamonds and their metaphysical properties. It is a stone that is every woman’s desire, especially when she gets engaged, but the meaning, spiritual and healing sides of diamonds is not well known. Diamond is the king of all crystals and gemstones. It is not enough to know all about the gemstone’s optical and physical properties, nor about the four Cs- cut, colour, clarity, and carat).
Is diamond for you or not?
In addition to purchasing diamonds as fashion items you should learn about what the stone can offer in sense of improving your life, your environment, your energy and your ongoing personal growth process. I would also like to reflect on how to use it and weather it suits every one or not. Being a numerologist I disagree with the idea of suggesting stones according to the zodiac sign. It should be selected according to one’s life path or birth number. A numerologist will be able to tell you what your life number is. In the light of numerology life path numbers 1, 3, 4, 5 and 8 can very well carry the energies of a diamond. It should not be worn by those with a life path of 2, 6, and 7, however 9 is neutral with it. I will advise people with life path numbers 2, 6 and 7 to wear it only occasionally or while going out for a function or else it can disturb their personal life and can cause an imbalance in the energy field around them.
Effects of diamonds on your life
While getting a diamond what a married woman needs to watch out for is not to get a diamond and sapphire placed together in a ring as it can create great disturbances in marital life. On the other hand diamond has unique properties and great effects if it’s in accordance with one’s life path number.
A diamond represents faithfulness, love, purity, innocence, and a strong long-lasting relationship. It removes certain types of deviations in the aura, which can be best imagined as voids and a diamond fills them with the pure energy of love. It inspires creativity, ingenuity, faith, endurance, and helps in manifesting abundance in all areas of life. A diamond is a symbol of the richness of the self. It comes in different colours as clear white, yellow, blue, pink, yellow, red, orange, green, blue, and brown. Its ruling planet is Venus. A symbol of purity, the Diamond’s pure white light helps to bring our lives into a cohesive whole. Diamond is a sign of commitment and fidelity, and instills trust to relationships and situations. It inspires the forces of accumulation, attracting the manifestation of abundance which makes it a must to have before getting into a new beginning of a relationship.
Diamond is an energy amplifier. It is a stone that never requires recharging. It will bring strength and endurance to all energies and will enhance the power of other crystals. However, beware, as this means it will increase negative energy as well as positive! It is excellent for blocking electromagnetic stress and for protection against cell phone emanations. It clears emotional and mental pain, reducing fear and bringing about new beginnings.
Healing with diamonds
It also has healing properties such as purifying and detoxifying all of the body’s systems, rebalancing the metabolism, building up stamina and treating allergies and chronic conditions. It also helps glaucoma and clears sight. Diamond effectively treats dizziness and vertigo and benefits the brain. It counteracts poisoning. It helps in breaking addictions and is also known to delay the aging process. Diamond reduces fever, fights infections and helps with skin diseases. Wearing a ring with a diamond helps delivery pains. Green Diamonds are especially helpful for the latter and are considered a symbol of motherhood.

Guide to purchasing a good diamond
4 C’s of diamonds
Various characteristics of diamonds are graded and categorised by the diamond industry. To learn about diamonds is to first learn about the 4 C’s of diamonds- the four characteristics which are considered the most important in determining a diamond’s value:
Cut
Clarity
Colour
Carat weight
These are the criteria jewelers use when grading diamonds, and they’re the ones you’ll need to understand to buy the right diamond for you. And then there’s the 5th C:
Certificates
Cut
Cut is probably the most important, and most challenging of the four Cs to understand. The brilliance of a diamond depends heavily on its cut. As shown in the images below, when a diamond is well-cut, light enters through the table and travels to the pavilion where it reflects from one side to the other before reflecting back out of the diamond through the table and to the observer’s eye.
Clarity
Most diamonds contain some inner flaws, or inclusions, that occur during the formation process. The visibility, number and size of these inclusions determine what is called the clarity of a diamond. Diamonds that are clear create more brilliance, and thus are more highly priced. When you will ask your jeweler he will describe it in the following terms:
F (Flawless): No internal or external flaws. Extremely rare, these diamonds come with a price tag to match their rarity.
IF (Internally Flawless): no internal flaws, but some surface flaws. Rare and very highly priced.
VVS1-VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included 1 and 2): Minute inclusions very difficult to detect under 10x magnification by a trained gemologist. Easy to find in a wide range of prices.
VS1-VS2 (Very Slightly Included 1 and 2): Minute inclusions seen only with difficulty under 10x magnification. Easy to find in a wide range of prices.
SI1-SI2 (Slightly Included 1 and 2): Minute inclusions are visible under 10x magnification, and may be visible by the unaided eye. Easy to find in a wide range of prices.
I1-I2-I3 (Included 1, 2 and 3). Inclusions visible under 10x magnification as well as to the human eye. We do not recommend buying diamonds in any of these grades.
Colour
Colourless diamonds are the most desirable since they allow the most refraction of light (sparkle). Off white diamonds absorb light, inhibiting brilliance. To grade whiteness or colorlessness, most jewellers refer to GIA’s professional colour scale that begins with the highest rating of D for colourless, and travels down the alphabet to grade stones with traces of very faint or light yellowish or brownish colour. The colour scale continues all the way to Z. Diamonds graded D through F are naturally the most valuable and desirable because of their rarity. But you can still obtain very attractive diamonds that are graded slightly less than colourless. Additionally, diamonds graded G through I show virtually no colour that is visible to the untrained eye. And while a hint of yellow will be apparent in diamonds graded J through M, this colour can often be minimised by carefully selecting the right jewellery in which to mount your diamond. Keep in mind that, while most people strive to buy the most colourless diamond they can afford, there are many people who actually prefer the warmer glow of lower-colour diamonds.
Carat
A carat is the unit of weight by which a diamond is measured. Because large diamonds are found less commonly than small diamonds, the price of a diamond rises exponentially if it is one carat or more. A carat is a unit of measurement and it is the unit used to weigh a diamond. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams, or 0.2 grams. ‘Karat’ is a different word that is used to describe the purity of gold. Large diamonds have a greater cost per carat. Any investment in a diamond which is one carat or above is a good investment but remember that size is not a measure of love!
Certificates
The diamond certificate, which is sometimes called a grading report, is a complete evaluation of your diamond that has been performed by a qualified professional with the help of special gemological instruments. A certified diamond ensures you have made a sound investment and you can feel safe that what you see is what you get. The diamond contains the number/mark (not visible to the naked eye) which tells that the certificate you are getting is indeed of the stone you have purchased and it is accepted the world over.
