PM Shehbaz Sharif Ready for Peace Talks with India: Kashmir Remains the Core Issue

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended an open hand for peace dialogue with India, making it clear that Kashmir remains the central issue. His remarks come after what he described as a historic military victory by Pakistan’s armed forces in a recent confrontation with India.

During a high-profile visit to the Pakistan Air Force’s Kamra Airbase, the Prime Minister addressed officers and personnel, lauding their courage, skill, and strategic brilliance in defending the nation’s skies. His message was one of strength, unity, and conditional diplomacy—a call for peace, but not without justice for the people of Kashmir.

Kashmir: The Cornerstone of Peace Negotiations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that any potential talks with India must revolve around the Kashmir issue. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He stated, “Peace is our preference, but not at the cost of injustice. Kashmiris must be granted their right to decide their own future.”

The Prime Minister also rejected India’s blame game over the Pahalgam incident, urging for a transparent international investigation—a gesture India declined, choosing aggression instead.

Pakistan Air Force’s Heroic Defense: A Turning Point

PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Kamra Airbase was not only symbolic but also deeply appreciative. He praised the “Shaheens” of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for what he described as one of the most impressive aerial defense operations of the 21st century.

He highlighted that Pakistan’s forces downed six Indian aircraft, including the technologically advanced Rafale jets. This, he said, proved that Pakistan’s home-grown military capabilities and strategic prowess could counter any threat, regardless of the enemy’s numerical or technological advantage.

“The whole world watched as our pilots rewrote the rules of air combat with unmatched bravery and precision,” said the Prime Minister.

Leadership and Coordination Across All Forces

The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to all branches of Pakistan’s military: the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He praised the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the nation’s defense.

From modernizing the air force to integrated strategic response plans, the PM noted that Pakistan’s forces operated with precision, unity, and unwavering commitment.

“The way the Air Force downed enemy aircraft will be remembered in the annals of history,” he said.

India’s Aggression and Pakistan’s Restraint

PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan responded to Indian aggression with strategic discipline, only targeting military installations while India’s attacks indiscriminately harmed civilians—including children and mothers.

He pointed out that while Pakistan offered peace, it also showcased its military resolve. “Our message is clear,” he said. “We want peace, but we are not weak.”

India’s Role in Terrorism and Regional Destabilization

During his speech, the Prime Minister accused India of state-sponsored terrorism, referencing incidents like the Samjhauta Express bombing and Balochistan train hijacking. He reiterated that India had a longstanding history of interference, including the creation of Mukti Bahini during the 1971 war.

The PM emphasized that Pakistan paid a heavy price in the war on terror and would not tolerate further destabilizing acts from across the border.

A United Nation Standing Behind Its Armed Forces

The PM’s remarks were not just a morale boost for the military but also a reminder to the international community. He highlighted how the entire Pakistani nation stood united in prayer and support for its armed forces.

He honored the martyrs and vowed continued support for the families of the fallen heroes, stating, “The sacrifices of our armed forces will never be forgotten.”

Peace with Honour, Strength with Wisdom

PM Shehbaz Sharif’s message to India and the world is both clear and firm: Pakistan desires peace, but not at the cost of sovereignty, dignity, or justice for Kashmir. His stance underscores a broader vision—of a Pakistan that is strong militarily, united internally, and open diplomatically—but only on just and honorable terms.
