Marvel’s favourite motley crew of reformed outlaws is back for another space adventure full of classic tunes, epic battles, and charming comedy.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 released recently is an American superhero film written and directed by James Gunn. It is a mix of different genres like action, comedy, science fiction and fantasy. A sequel to 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it has a total run-time of 137 minutes. It topped the box office this week.
Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their family together as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s (Chris Pratt) true parentage. The half-human, half-Celestial leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy was abducted from Earth as a child and raised by a group of alien thieves and smugglers called the Ravagers. Other members of the Guardians are Vin Diesel as Baby Groot, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer and Bradley Cooper as Rocket. Each of the Guardians are skilled in some way. The Guardians are hired by an alien race the Sovereigns headed by Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) to save their precious batteries from invaders. However, the batteries are stolen and the Guardians find themselves on the run against the Sovereigns. As the Guardians try to escape the mystery of Quill’s parentage is revealed. Old foes become new allies and fan-favourite characters from the classic comics come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand.
“Perhaps not quite as fresh or fun as the original, but still very much a triumph of the Quill,” says one review. It is showing in cinemas all over Pakistan.
