Nauman Ijaz Opens Up About His Miraculous Recovery from Cancer

Renowned veteran actor Nauman Ijaz, known for bringing iconic characters to life in hit television dramas like Parizaad, Mayi Ri, Kaisi Teri Khudgharzi, and Nijat, has touched the hearts of audiences for decades. Currently working alongside Nadia Afgan on his latest drama project, the legendary star recently opened up about a deeply personal ordeal that tested his resilience and deepened his faith.

During a candid appearance on the Pakiavellian podcast, Nauman revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in June 2024. Recalling the moment he received the unexpected news, he shared that doctors discovered two separate issues: a tumor near his ear and lymphoma in his stomach. Facing the daunting diagnosis, the actor turned to prayer, reflecting on his life and seeking divine grace.

“On the day of my diagnosis, I prayed to Allah that I had never wronged anyone, taken anyone’s money, or cheated anyone, and I asked for His mercy,” Nauman shared. Mindful of the emotional and physical toll the treatment process could take on his family, he prayed for a gentle path forward. He also revealed that the experience changed his daily outlook, leading him to regularly recite verses before sleeping as a reminder of life’s standard fragility.

During this difficult time, a close friend, Gohar Butt, advised him to recite Surah Rahman every day. Nauman embraced the practice whole-heartedly, finding immense comfort in the spiritual routine.

What followed was nothing short of extraordinary. While surgeons operated on the tumor near his ear, the stomach lymphoma completely vanished from subsequent medical scans before his scheduled chemotherapy in July. The unexpected turn of events left both the actor and his medical team amazed.

Nauman warmly credits his faith and the daily recitation of Surah Rahman for guiding him through the medical crisis. Today, healthy and back on set, the beloved actor continues to inspire fans not only with his powerful onscreen performances but also with his unwavering optimism and gratitude.
