Syra Yousuf Launches SYCinemagic with Debut Production Project ‘Shireen’

Syra Yousuf is taking on a new creative role. After years of building her career as an actor, she has now ventured into film production with Shireen, a short film directed by Ali Mehdi.

The project also introduces SYCinemagic, Syra’s newly launched production banner. With this move, the actor is broadening her involvement in the entertainment industry from performing in front of the camera to helping bring stories to life behind it.

A New Chapter with ‘Shireen’

Syra announced the project on Instagram by sharing its poster and describing Shireen as a project that holds personal significance for her.

Syra’s acting career began with Mera Naseeb in 2011. She subsequently appeared in television projects including Bilqees Kaur, Tanhaiyaan Naye Silsilay, and Ru Baru, establishing herself as a familiar face in Pakistani television.

One of her notable later television roles came in Sinf-e-Aahan, the ensemble drama in which she portrayed Arzoo Daniel, a Christian girl from Lahore pursuing her ambition of joining the Pakistan Military Academy.

Her film credits have included the 2023 romantic comedy Babylicious, in which she appeared opposite Shahroz Sabzwari.

Production now adds another dimension to that career. While acting has placed Syra at the center of stories as a performer, SYCinemagic gives her an opportunity to participate in the process of developing and presenting stories from a different perspective.
