Rajab Butt is preparing to take one of the biggest steps of his career, moving from YouTube and digital entertainment into Pakistani cinema. As work continues on his debut film, the content creator has appealed to his followers to show the same support in cinemas that they have given him online.
In a video circulating on social media, Rajab encouraged his audience to start putting money aside for a cinema outing once the film is released. He suggested that viewers could budget around Rs2,000 for a ticket and popcorn and urged them to experience the movie with family or friends.
His message was aimed particularly at younger members of his audience. Rajab said he wanted children to be part of the cinema audience and asked his followers to support his transition to the big screen just as they have supported his YouTube career.

Rajab has established a substantial digital following, with the source reporting more than nine million YouTube subscribers. His online popularity has become an important part of the conversation surrounding his move into acting.
The creator has previously expressed confidence in the ability of his loyal followers to support his cinematic project. In an earlier statement shared online, he claimed that his self-described “Rajab Family,” which he put at around one crore people, could provide a large enough audience for the film even if others chose not to watch it.
That confidence now faces its first major test at the box office, where online popularity and cinema attendance do not always translate in exactly the same way.
Rajab’s debut project is being directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari, while Sarmad Ibrahim has written the screenplay. The cast also brings together several established names from Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Amar Khan is set to appear as the female lead, with Resham, Saba Faisal and Babar Ali also part of the ensemble.
Production has already moved forward, with the first major shooting spell recently completed in Chiniot, Punjab. The development marks another milestone for a project that has attracted considerable attention because of Rajab’s transition from digital creator to film actor.
While Rajab’s request has received attention from his supporters, it has also prompted criticism across social media.
Some users mocked his appeal to followers to save Rs2,000 for the cinema experience, with critics using the term “bheeq” in response to the request. Others questioned whether asking followers to spend their money on a particular film was appropriate, especially given the financial pressures many Pakistanis currently face.
These reactions have added another layer to the discussion around Rajab’s debut. His enormous online following gives the film a built-in audience to reach, but the response in cinemas will ultimately depend on whether that digital connection encourages viewers to buy tickets and watch the movie.
For Rajab Butt, the upcoming release represents more than a change of platform. It is an opportunity to test whether the audience that made him a major name online will follow him into mainstream Pakistani cinema.
