Cafe Barbera opened two years back and till today it continues to leave a footprint in the flourishing food scene of Lahore. Providing quality food and unique tasting coffee is their forte and for many foodies, the restaurant is everyone’s favorite hot spot.

Located in the heart of Lahore near Hussain Chowk, we were invited to an exclusive tasting of their new ‘tea for two’ menu yesterday. And we left longing for more!

Starting off with their mint lemonade, the drink was extremely refreshing with just the right amount of ingredients amalgamated achieving a well-balanced, tangy flavor. It was a real thirst quencher and with summers fast approaching, this drink will taste even better.

The tea menu was fabulously presented on a four tier platter stand giving us a hard time deciding where to start from. Each plate looked appealing and absolutely delectable. Desserts sat right on the top followed with two bowls of pasta, then three mini burgers with salad and french fries and lastly, their hand tossed pizza.

Their pizza remains our favorite dish on the menu and as always, it tasted delicious. Crunchy on the sides and full of fresh ingredients including onions, black olives, small chunks of tomatoes, mushrooms and capsicum- the overall taste was exceptional.

Up next were the mini burgers- the meat was cooked well, oozing out its juicy flavors. Although they were served cold and the burgers could have included cheese with a few other toppings. It was, however, well toasted and the lettuce pressed inside the burger, teased a savory and spicy flavor.

The desserts included chocolate dipped fresh strawberries, mousse and four to five different pastries, garnishing the plate with fresh gladiolus. With strawberries in season, it was the perfect fruit to go with the meal. Everything was freshly prepared, tantalizing the taste buds with each bite.

Verdict: Overall, a trip to Cafe Barbera is always a pleasant experience and it delivers great value in a reasonable amount. For those who love some variety, their tea menu is worth a try. Even though the tea platter is for two, the large sized servings can be enough for three as well.
