Behroze Sabzwari on the Difference Between PTV’s Golden Era and Today’s Industry

Behroze Sabzwari, a celebrated Pakistani television and film actor, has won hearts with his remarkable performances and charismatic personality. His memorable roles as Mobi in Ankahi, Nosha in Khuda Ki Basti, and Qabacha in Tanhaiyan remain deeply cherished by drama lovers. Over the years, he has also been part of successful projects like Yunhi, Bismil, Wafa Bemol, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Humsafar, and Khumar. Known for his outspoken nature and disciplined lifestyle, Behroze Sabzwari has always been vocal about the changing dynamics of the Pakistani entertainment industry.

Behroze Sabzwari’s Insight on the Shift in Professionalism

Recently, Behroze Sabzwari appeared on Green Entertainment’s Ramzan transmission, hosted by Rabia Anam and Danish Taimoor. Veteran actress Bushra Ansari was also present as a guest. During the discussion, Behroze shared his thoughts on the drastic differences between the working environment of PTV’s golden era and today’s entertainment industry. He emphasized the importance of punctuality, discipline, and professionalism that once defined Pakistan’s television industry.

According to him, the culture of PTV in the past instilled strong values of commitment and responsibility. “It wasn’t like this before, but now, for punctual people, it has become a challenge. Time waits for no one, and if you don’t respect time, you lose credibility,” he stated. He shared his personal habit of arriving at the airport two hours before his flight, out of respect for those who invite him. He recalled how, during PTV days, actors and crew members would dedicate three to five days solely to reading rehearsals, dry runs, and movement rehearsals—practices that are now rare in the industry.

Behroze, who has been honored with presidential awards twice, humbly credited his success to his teachers. “I am only a receiver of these awards on behalf of my teachers. My achievements belong to them, not me,” he said.

Bushra Ansari on Punctuality and Work Ethics

Bushra Ansari, another iconic name in Pakistani entertainment, also spoke on the subject. She expressed how working with disciplined professionals shaped her career. “Behroze and I attend multiple fundraiser events, and we are always on time,” she added. She further explained the embarrassment they would feel if they ever arrived late, as punctuality was a fundamental value instilled in them from the early years of their careers.

The Changing Landscape of Pakistan’s Entertainment Industry

The discussion sparked an important conversation about the evolving ethics and professionalism in today’s entertainment industry. Many veteran actors believe that the current generation of artists lacks the same level of commitment and discipline that defined PTV’s golden era.

With fast-paced productions, digital streaming platforms, and social media influencing the industry, work ethics have undoubtedly transformed. However, veterans like Behroze Sabzwari and Bushra Ansari continue to emphasize the need for discipline, professionalism, and respect for time—values that should never fade, regardless of industry trends.
