HUM TV has introduced Gulbahar, a new Pakistani drama bringing together an established ensemble led by Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani. Directed by Mehreen Jabbar and written by Aliya Bukhari, the series takes over the slot previously occupied by Zanjeerain and premiered on September 16, 2026.

The drama explores a marriage placed under intense emotional pressure when a couple struggles to have children. Its central premise revolves around a wife who makes the difficult decision to bring another woman into her husband’s life in the hope of starting a family.

With a cast that combines familiar television names with younger performers, Gulbahar marks another television appearance for Sanam Saeed and brings several experienced actors together under Mehreen Jabbar’s direction.

A Strong Ensemble at the Heart of the Drama

Sanam Saeed takes one of the leading roles in the series. The actress has built a substantial television career through dramas including Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Shehr-e-Zaat, Daam, Shak, Kidurat, and Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu. She also recently returned to television with Main Manto Nahi Hoon.

Opposite her is Emmad Irfani, who began his career as a model before establishing himself as an actor. His television credits include Cheekh, Jalan, Daam, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, and Kafeel. His involvement adds another established name to the drama’s principal cast.

Komal Meer is also part of Gulbahar. The actress has appeared in projects including Ehd-e-Wafa, Qalandar, Badshah Begum, Wafa Be Mol, Wehshi, and Rah-e-Junoon. She entered the entertainment industry after winning the Miss Veet reality show and has since continued to build her television career.

Veteran Performers Join the Line-Up

The supporting cast includes Shahood Alvi, a veteran of Pakistani television who has worked extensively as both an actor and director. Among his notable projects are Makan, Vasl, Bol Meri Machli, Zard Zamano Ka Sawera, and Yeh Hai Khatti Meethi Zindagi. He was also recognised by audiences for his role in Ghisi Pitti Muhabbat.

Bakhtawar Mazhar brings a comparatively newer presence to the ensemble. She has gained recognition through performances in Doctor Bahu, In Flames, and Parwarish. Her role in Doctor Bahu, where she portrayed a cancer survivor, was particularly notable in her emerging screen career.

Together, the cast gives Gulbahar a mix of seasoned performers and younger talent, creating an ensemble around its family-focused storyline.

When and Where to Watch Gulbahar

For viewers planning to follow the new series, Gulbahar has a twice-weekly broadcast schedule on HUM TV.

  • Days: Wednesday and Thursday
  • Time: 8:00 PM
  • Channel: HUM TV
  • Premiere: September 16, 2026

The Wednesday-Thursday schedule places the drama in a regular prime-time slot, giving audiences two episodes each week as the story develops.

Mehreen Jabbar Returns With a New Television Project

The series is directed by Mehreen Jabbar, a filmmaker and director known for her work across Pakistani television and cinema. With Aliya Bukhari credited as the writer, Gulbahar brings together two established creative names behind the camera with a cast led by Sanam Saeed and Emmad Irfani.

At its centre, the drama focuses on marriage, family expectations and the emotional consequences surrounding parenthood. Its premise sets up a story in which personal sacrifice and complicated family decisions are closely connected.

With its premiere now underway, Gulbahar gives HUM TV viewers a new drama to follow twice a week, supported by an ensemble that spans multiple generations of Pakistani performers.
