Coke Studio releases “ASMA-UL-HUSNA” recited by Atif Aslam

Coke Studio announces the release of “Asma-Ul-Husna,” the 99 attributes of Allah, recited by Atif Aslam. The three and a half minute track is produced by Zulfiqar “Xulfi” Jabbar Khan, while the video is directed by Asim Raza.

Inscribed into the cultural memory of Pakistan, “Asma-Ul-Husna” has taken different colours worldwide, profoundly impacting audiences with its verses. Coke Studio’s version manifests a multilayer soundscape, beginning with the actual sounds of black hole collision, followed by the echoes of “Allah” from the iconic Azaan of Makkah. The recitation borrows 24 voices from across the country to build a large vocal acapella personality and to further enhance the grandeur of the acapella, Melvin Arthur, a virtuoso musician from Quetta Pakistan, worked on crafting the choir arrangement using vocals from around the world. The track also demonstrates a unique arrangement of duffs as their grand ensemble reverberates in a large space. The whole composition finally comes together seamlessly in the vocals of Atif Aslam reciting the powerful verses.

Indeed, the release comes at an unprecedented time of crisis with the whole world gripped by the COVID-19 pandemic and the fear, anxiety and uncertainty it has brought with it. Pakistan’s frontline workers, from doctors, nurses, security personnel, and janitorial staff continuously risk their lives to help serve those affected.

In these testing circumstances, the release of “Asma-Ul-Husna” is an ode to the unwavering human spirit, an expression of spiritual healing and nourishment, and a reassurance of better times ahead. The recitation ends poignantly with “Al-Saboor” or translates possessor of enduring patience, conveying a message of calm and endurance.

Speaking about the release of “Asma-Ul-Husna,” Mr. Fahad Ashraf, General Manager, Coca-Cola, Pakistan & Afghanistan Region, stated, “Pakistan is a deeply spiritual and indeed resilient nation, drawing on incredible reservoirs of strength in trying times. At a time when we are going through a critical moment in history, we release Asma-Ul-Husna in cognisance of the beautiful human spirit, endeavouring to share a sense of calm, positivity and hope in the collective consciousness of the nation through the contemplative and reassuring nature of the verses.”

Ever since the release of its trailer, Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Padman’ has become one of the most anticipated films of 2018. Now, the makers have released ‘Aaj Se Teri’, the first song from the film which features Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte.

Amit Trivedi’s melodious composition breathes life into lyricist Kausar Munir’s words. Sung by Arijit Singh, the song gives us a window into Kumar and Apte’s marriage, which is as harmonious as it gets. Set in rural India, the song captures Apte living a life of complete domesticity, which is made more comfortable with an incisive Kumar and his innovations. Akshay Kumar, who plays the role of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, sets the pace of the story right, as he plays the perfect husband to Apte in the song.

‘Padman’ is an adaptation of a short story written by Twinkle Khanna in her second book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. Shehzad Roy’s ‘Lafz Churatay Ho’ highlights the crime of Book Piracy

When you think of an artist or a celebrity who has used his fame in a positive way to influence or bring a change in someone’s life, the first person who comes to mind is Shehzad Roy. With him having taken his popularity to another level altogether, the star recently got appointed as a National Goodwill Ambassador by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and has us immensely proud of him.

And now Shahzad Roy has released his latest music video for his new song for Oxford University Press called ‘Lafz Churatay Ho’ has made us stunned. The song deals with how piracy destroys creativity and it has been depicted in such a way that we are just left in more awe of the star who lets his work speak volumes about himself and the causes he supports.

The song was in fact released as part of a Copyright Awareness programme and Oxford University Press launched the video of the song at an Intellectual Property Training Workshop for judicial members organized by CLDP USA (Commercial Law Development Program), in collaboration with ACIF (Brands Protection Group) and CLIEP (Continuing Legal Education Institute of Pakistan). The main concept behind Roy’s song is to highlight how book piracy is a crime and destroys creativity and the way the singer has put it forward, is simply commendable.

Lafz has been written and composed by Shehzad Roy and the lines ‘In Lafzon Ka Qarz Hai Tum Pay, Inki Izzat Farz Ha Tum Pay’, really touched an emotional chord and hence made the song an instant favorite for all of us.

With the video shot very well, Shehzad looks sleek in a pink shirt but more so the tiny animation on the side in scenes makes watching it a visual delight as well. And so, with some hard-hitting words and brilliant composition Shehzad Roy’s latest ‘Lafz Churatay Ho’ is a must listen by the star who is also a recipient of Pakistan’s highest civil honor, Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Everyone has fallen in love with Atif Aslam’s ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’

There’s something magical about Atif Aslam’s voice; magnificent and warm; it’s no wonder he’s Pakistan’s singing wonder. The singer has long been a thrilling part of cross-border ventures, singing for Bollywood actors in heartachingly rich melodies. While singing a Bollywood tune is nothing new for the musician, it’s this particular song that has struck a chord in many.

Atif Aslam has lent his vocals to song ‘Dil Diyan Gallan’ for the film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. The movie song stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif as the characters who have an intimate few days in a wintry setting.

The song is soft, supple and allows a profound profile of Atif’s deep voice to seep through, with a minimal use of instruments. With a sensational mix of tablas and violins, the ballad is incredibly heartwarming and all the more when we see the two leads in a lovely ballroom dance. The music video is aesthetically beautiful, with backdrops of mountains and heaps of snow that exude Christmas vibes.

Checkout what people say about this amazing song!

Atif’s familiar voice is the perfect link for the popular pair, who have an ardent fan following. We aren’t the only ones in love with the song.

Tera Intezaar – Music Review

‘Tera Intezar’ starring Sunny Leone and Arbaaz Khan is mainly a classical-inspired music album composed by Raaj Aashoo with lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed.

The title song ‘Intezaar’ is a slow romantic track. Shreya Ghoshal’s melodious voice and her sheer skill, tries to lift this average number. The chorus has an alaap and additional vocals are by Shabab Shabri & Arun Daga.

‘Barbie Girl’, is a peppy track sung by Swati Sharma and rapped by Lil Golu and Hritiqa Chheber. Khali Khali Dil, a love-duet by Armaan Malik and Payal Dev. Armaan is commendable, but he does not get to experiment much in the formulaic romantic track.

‘Mehfooz’, a slow rhythmic love song, sounds like some forgotten early 90s number, but is melodious and could be counted amongst one of the better compositions in the album. Probably that is the reason Mehfooz has three versions in the album – one sung by Yasser Dessai, another by Palak Muchhal and a third one featuring Hrishikesh Chury.

‘Abhagi Piya Ki’, is a Sufi track with a soundscape comprising some commendable harmonium strains and tabla beats. This qawwali is one of the rare slow, classical-based numbers of Kanika Kapoor, who is otherwise known for her fast, peppy chartbusters Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan and Baby Doll. Ustaad Ahmed Hussain, Ustaad Mohammed Hussain and Raja Hasan’s expert vocals add to the track. The song’s reprise version has been sung by Javed Ali and Payal. Javed’s rendition is laudable.

So yes, I had all the good reasons.”
