When soul meets soul!
What happens when a TV star meets a lawyer/writer? Yes, exactly what happened with Juggun and Feisal. It was a match made in heaven, with a little help from friends, of course.
When did you get married?
June 27, 2013.
How and when did you meet?
We met at my friend Sanam Taseer and Omar Salamat’s house at a GT in October 2012. Initially, we didn’t like each other at all. Then we met again on January 16, 2013 for a work meeting. We clicked immediately and went out for dinner the next night. After that all is history.
What made you two decide that you could spend your whole life together?
I have no clue why Feisal wanted to marry me, but for me the decision was based on three things. Firstly, how wonderful he is with my son, Hamza. Secondly, how he deals with my madness and hyperness. Thirdly, I love him with all my heart.
Who proposed to whom? When and how?
Feisal proposed to me. While watching a movie he turned to me and said, ‘Would it be a deal breaker if we got married?’ I think that’s the oddest proposal I had heard. I laughed and then we talked about it seriously. I met his family that Sunday and here we are, married and content.
One thing you remember about your wedding day.
I remember all the wonderful people that made such an effort to be there and how peaceful my family looked. My mother is so happy I married Feisal, finally the ‘right man’.
One thing you wish you could have added to your ceremony?
Less stress. The experience was highly stressful and there was so much to be done but my friends really helped out. Verve, Imtisal and Arsalan arranged the Gaana and Dinner evening. Fahad Hussayn did the outfit. The reception was handled by Bilal Mukhtar Events and the outfit by Kamiar Rokni. The hair and make-up for everything was by Maram & Aabroo. My friends really rallied together to make things easier.
What was the wedding night gift for the bride?
My mother in law and father-in-law gave me a beautiful amethyst and diamond set. It’s extra special because they made the effort to find out that Amethyst is my favourite stone. I really adore mummy and daddy.
Where did you go for your honeymoon? Who decided the place and why?
Feisal wanted it to be a surprise so I left it to him. We went to Vienna, Florence and London. Feisal’s mother is from Vienna so he wanted me to go there for sure. Florence is gorgeous and I love fashion so Italy made sense. Finally, London because we have loads of mutual friends there. All in all a wonderful memorable trip.
Who gives in when you two fight?
Feisal does, every time. He is a wonderful, patient and understanding man.
What is your song?
‘Time After Time’ by Casandra Wilson.
The first movie you two watched together as a couple…
‘Life of Pi’ at the Royal Palm Cinema in Lahore.
The one relative or friend of your spouse that you just cannot tolerate, and why?
Good God. There are a few BUT I will not name anyone because I don’t want to be slaughtered!
Favourite activity as a couple?
Hanging out in bed with Hamza and watching movies. Just vegging as a family.
Which was the best time of your life together? Before marriage, the honeymoon, or now? Or still waiting?
Every day is perfect and I am very grateful for every moment we spend together, it doesn’t get better than this.
