When Saleha Kashif exhibited her luxury pret line this year in June, it was a total sell out and put the designer’s name on the fashion radar. The brand garnered a lot of attention for its unique aesthetic and since then it has become a flourishing name in this competitive industry.
Today, Saleha Kashif is known for experimenting with new cuts, styles and colours. Her upcoming bridal collection is a fusion of modern cut lines with traditional embroidery and embellishments. The fusion collection includes earthy and jeweled tones accented with classic deep reds and gold.
Since she began designing, her forte is in creating bespoke exquisite bridals that define every individual’s personality.
“My favourites are bridals because I love combining intricate details and there is larger scope of showing my creativity,” said Saleha Kashif.
Inspired from our rich heritage and culture, her bridals represent regal looks from the bygone Mughal era. Both gaudy and grand, the intricacy and detailing in her work is unique where she combines ribbon and bead work with cut dana. For fabrics, she uses raw silks, brocades, grip silks and velvet.
“My effort is to give the best impression, a unique yet wearable one,” stated Saleha. “We will never compromise on fabric quality and our colours will not fade. Our focus is to retain our customers.”
Stepping in the fashion business now is not easy, as the market dynamics have changed. It is highly saturated and Saleha agrees that every designer has something unique to offer. But she has always had a penchant for fashion and only those who have the talent, skill and inborn flair for it can survive this cutthroat industry.
Apart from bridal wear, the brand deals in semi-formals, heavy formals and pret as well.
Although her pret looks are subtle and subdued, her bridal collection is truly ‘Mughal-driven’-that is over the top and absolutely royal.
She likes to use mukaish, kamdaani and reysham, incorporating gems, crystals and mirrors that keeps things interesting.
Her dedication, design philosophy and creativity has earned her recognition and we at Brides & You highly recommend this designer for the upcoming wedding season.
