Bank of America customers faced issues accessing their accounts on Wednesday, though the bank has since stated that the problem has mostly been resolved.
Reports of the outage began spiking around 12:45 PM ET on Downdetector, a site that tracks service disruptions.
Many customers reported being unable to view their account balances, and some who did manage to access their accounts were alarmed to see a zero balance.
In a statement to CNN, Bank of America confirmed that “some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts and balance information today.”
“These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved,” the bank added, apologizing for the inconvenience.
Bank of America has not provided any details regarding the cause of the outage, and it’s unclear when full service will be restored.
Several CNN employees with Bank of America accounts also reported being unable to log into their accounts on Wednesday afternoon. One customer received a message indicating that their account balances “may be temporarily unavailable.”
On Downdetector, one customer wrote, “Five accounts show zero balance, over $20K.”
Another user mentioned that while they couldn’t log in, their spouse could, but her accounts also showed no balance.
One user commented, “Shows my debt just fine, though.”
